1995 HZJ75 sub-tank with extra vapor tubes and evaporative separators – can I simplify?

Hi all,
I have a HZJ75 Troop Carrier with the more complicated sub-tank vapor system (4 extra small metal vent tubes + 2 plastic evaporative separator boxes). I’m considering simplifying the system by:
  • Keeping the original large braided breather hose connected to the filler neck area (replacing it with new hose)
  • Capping the other 3 extra small metal vent tubes permanently
  • Possibly running one dedicated high vent line as a backup from one of the tank's metal vent tubes.
Is this safe and commonly done on the complex vapor setup? Has anyone with this exact configuration simplified it, and did you have any issues with pressure, filling, or fuel transfer afterwards? Maybe I replace the filler neck to the one from the less complex sub tank system. Doing this all because of corrosion, broken rusted metal tubes, etc.

What model year is your troopy? I have a 1995 HZJ75 ute, also Australian market, and my accessory tank venting looks a little different than yours.

Are either of these photos of your fuel tank or are they both images you found online?
 
I have essentially a 2012 system. Straight feed and return and a balance pipe from front tank to rear. One small vent to atmosphere on rear tank (1/5 of plastic straw) that was on both of the sub-tanks I received from a 2011/12 hzj76. Sorry no photos- mounted under bed.

Mine is a 1995 Australian variant. Both are images found online. Mine is the same as the top one and the bottom of the two in the following photo. Since my post I discovered pinholes in the tank. But still curious if I can install a different variant without issues.
 
Mine is probably either not factory or is significantly modified, based on the other work that’s been done by prior owners, so I’m probably a poor reference for you.
 
Normally any recessed area on the top
Of any tank should have a vent .
This is quite logical .
However if the recessed part is minimal ,1-2 cm , the amount of gas in these section is rather limited .
Pls consider that you will not be able to fill up to the top of there areas if you don’t have vents !
So in practice loose capacity of the tank .
 
Here are a couple of pictures of my BJ70 tank. I think the fuel pickup was replaced with a return one due to having installed a 13BT.
Wonder if I can make this setup work with/without the emissions crap. Interesting fact, this tank with the emissions crap was at a later time replaced with one without the emissions crap, unless that stuff was relocated somewhere else.
