Hey All,

First post here, names Jeremy. I joined the page after scouring the net for some answers on this 1UZ swap. I intend to reach out to one of your members so hopefully we can get this thing in the dirt in the near future!

Anyways, the truck is a 1989 toyota pickup. It started life with me as a bare chassis and cab only. Currently we are wrapping up the back half.

Quick facts:
89 Ext Cab
1UZFE/Auto Trans
Custom Long Travel Front End
3-Link in the Rear w/ Full floater(might switch to 4-link before we wrap it up)
Fox 2.5 coilovers/bypasses in the rear
Fox 2.5 Coilovers and 3.0 Bypasses up front
2.0 Bumpstops all around

Let me know if you'd like more info!

Cool truck! This thing is definitely going to shred when it’s done.

How do you plan on routing the radiator hoses to the engine bay?

Thanks!

We will run a channel on the inside of the frame and route all the plumbing down and under the cab. It wasn’t my first choice mounting out back, but with the size of the 1uz, the engine cage and mounting all the fiberglass and grill, we had no space up front. I am almost certain we will have to run a booster.

Welcome to ‘Mud Jeremy. Where you going to put all the camping gear when you hit the Rubicon in that beast?? The firewood is going to fall right out of that flatbed! :flipoff2:

Thanks!

I’ve heard of people using exhaust tubing for coolant lines. The roadkill guys did that on their Mazdarati and it seemed to work well!

Same, I’ve seen the metal lines running the length of setups like this and hard mounting along the frame rails, then the soft lines in the engine bay

That’s the way to do it. You’ll probably have to run soft lines coming off of the radiator too
