I need to downsize projects! I know I should keep it but I have way too many projects and I don't have time for them all right now. I want to focus on my 55 and keeping all my other cruisers on the road.
5 years ago I purchased a 1983 FJ60 project rig here in central Oregon. Before that it was in Yakima, WA, I don't know everywhere it has been but those are both very dry climates. I needed a drive train for my FJ55 project and thought I would use the engine and axles out of it. After I purchased it and didn't get around to the swap right away I found a good deal on a diesel drive-train for my FJ55. Once I got a good look at the vehicle I realized it wasn't rusty or in that bad of shape, just disassembled and being prepped for paint and a SBC swap. I bought it from a guy that wasn't the person that did the initial work and was not a cruiser guy, he thought it was going to be a fun project then gave up.
The engine was pulled and unfortunately it looks like some wiring was cut in the process. Lots of parts are off and in boxes. The engine, transmission and transfer case were out when I purchased it. I put it back in, kinda, just to make it easier to store and move around. The bracing for the transmission cross-member were cut from the frame so I just put a chain on it to hold it up and I didn't have the original nuts for the motor mounts so it is just resting on the studs. Someone cut out a little of the rear wheel well lips behind the door to get rid of some rust. They also put some bondo on the left rear quarter.
Additionally it has a huge box with a new complete carpet kit and some extra doors if someone wants them.
Prices seem all over the place now days and I have not kept up with 60s in a while! I know I MUST have a price so lets say $4k. I am open to offers OR if you all want to post in here arguing about what it is worth I am happy to hear the banter!
It is in my shop and I can take any additional photos on request.
ADDED BONUS- BLACK WIDOW MOD- The spider webs you see in some of the photos are probably from black widow spiders and they come with it free of charge. I could bug bomb it on request but they find there way into everything out here. They are very shy and move away to hide. They are slow moving and not nearly as scary as people make them out to be.
I have a trailer and LX570 to tow and for a fee AND a non-refundable deposit I am willing to deliver it most places in the lower 48.
