It has a clean straight body, color is original, color code 464.

The Body has no rust, Chassis has no Rust or any welds.

I am not new in importing vehicles into USA. Here is an example of vehicle i had imported but later decided to sell.
1992 Defender 130
1900 Land Rover Defender 130 Double Cab High Capacity Pickup 200TDi | eBay

Unfortunately there is very low number of RoRo vessels leaving Kuwait so the Import will be done with a 20 foot container and the cost of container to the West Coast, Long Beach is about $2,800 not including customs fees here in the country. Price of Container to East Coast will be even lower.

If anyone is interested in this Pickup, please let me know. I will help you in Importing it or you can handle the import all yourself if you know the process..

It is a clean rust free all original Pickup. The engine runs and doesn't overheat, transmission shift well.

Thanks. It doesn't HAVE to be a '78 but I just don't like the square bezel and obviously want it with factory disc brakes. So, '76, '77, 78 with '78 being first choice. (I'm also obviously interested in brakes on my truck...)

I don't think these years got disc brakes.
I know my '78 didn't come with them.

Edmond, it is very interesting to see a cruiser from thee Middle East with the heater and defroster vents.

On the FJ40s, disc brakes started in 9/75. I can't believe they wouldn't have done the 45s at the same time.

That's a shame. I just saw this one of you previous post about it coming into Freeport, Tx. That's not far from me and I would have liked to look at it.

Sorry DC
It was in Freeport for about 1 week before i got it out here. I wish you told me earlier, i would of let the transporter show you the Pickup if i known..

Yes kevin, You are right the pickup does not have Disk brakes. But it does have the heater, little odd for middle eastern Vehicle. I wished it had Air Con..

Until we figure that weird one out, when you look for one for me, just make sure it has discs up front. I could make the swap but would rather keep that one off the list of to-dos.

I cant think of why they didnt install Disk brakes on the FJ45s which is a heavier car if they had them on the FJ40 starting 1975.
It's not about the year or their weight; it was about the country that it was sent to by Toyota, the reason behind it was that for these countries it was easier to work on drum brakes in the most rural places.
The same applies to Saudi and South America specs trucks.

Interesting. I've spoken with an old automotive genius and his explanation is this: (although not a "Toyota" expert...)

Disc brakes are far easier to work on, especially for the novice. The only reason I could figure for leaving drums on those trucks is Toyota wanted to use up all the leftover drum setups once disc brakes were started up. They're less effective and less safe but that's more important in populous and more modern countries.

That sounds more like it to me...
