I ordered the sheet metal repair panels yesterday. Looks like I have my summer planned now doing a mild restoration. Going to swap the engine too. Don't think I'll go through the effort of converting to LHD.

Seems like a reasonable decision. Thanks for responding to all the questions and for testing the compressions. At least there's a lot more information about the rig available to future potential buyers (including me) that you won't have to repeat in the future. Good luck with the mild restoration.
 
I'm going to pull the body off the frame and try to do a good job.

I did an overnight soak with some GM Upper Cylinder cleaner just to see if it made a difference in compression. Not much difference. Hot numbers after the soak:
1 - 384
2 - 363
3 - 359
4 - 357

The lack of significant improvement is partially what led to the decision to do things right for the truck. I'll try to start a build thread so potential future buyers can see what I've done to the truck.
