Here's a super terrible drawing that illustrates how (I think) it goes:

Awesome. Your photoshop skills are trick.

I unhooked the elec fan and the circuit stays cool. I just hardwired fan to battery and unhooked after shut off.

I have the truck at home now. Took three days to get it home.

So im up and running with the elec fuel pump for now.

Blowing fuses again.

Whats the fuse amp rating for the circuit handling the blower for the ac? Evidently thats the circuit the po tapped for running the fuel pump.

The cover for the fuse block is missing so I have no clue what the various fuses go to.

I just blew a 25 amp fuse testing the circuit? Is the fuse handling ac blower larger?

nice truck, nice choice last year of the round headlights , one of my favorites

I'd ditch that electric fuel pump and run a mechanical. The webers don't like much fuel pressure. And you can get rid of the chrome filter thing on the valve cover and run a hose and 90 fitting to the hole that is probably lurking under the air filter. Nice truck, good to see you got one w/ power steering. It can take a while to find all crap PO can do. When I got mine it had the wrong alternator, missing bolts allover, trans was barley bolted on, 2 bolts holding radiator, on & on.

Update. Now its running fine with a 15 amp fuse in the hot spot.

I still have to manually connect the electric fan before starting but its an amazin little truck. I dare say more like a 40 than my old FJ80.

We actually ran a separate circuit on mine. 4 post relay with fused power, acc from the ign switch as the signal.

No doubt. I have put no less than 15 wire nuts on dangling wires. I removed all the wacked out jumpers from the fuse block.

I have electrical gremlins. I have had little luck digging up a diagram of the fuse block.

I can tell which fuse is the problem circuit but Im not at all an experienced electrician.

Anyone been here before?

Mine had all kinds of problems with the electrical when I got it. I fixed some of it myself and had the guys at the shop here help me with some of it. I think I have the EWD here somewhere for my 80 if you need me to snap some pics or get some scans.

If there is anything related to electrical that would help alot.

Yeah I have the whole EWD for that year. I'll see if I can track it down. I really don't need it anymore since I have all the electrical in there from the 4Runner I swapped in the RE out of. The only part that is original to the truck is the harness for the tail lights and brake lights. Maybe we can work out a deal and I'll just send you the book.

Name it dude.

I just put on a couple FJ60 Mirrors and have the original side mirrors laying around.

I could do those in trade. I just realized though. Your's is an 81 so it has the 22R. Mine is an 80 so it had a 20R. I don't know how different the wiring is. Maybe one of the mini experts can chime in.

Not much wiring diffrence between 20R and 22R. The major wiring deffrences are between the 22R-E and 22R. Due to EFI, emmisions, ect.. Same block and internals, just diffrent induction systems.
