I know.. I know… I’ve only had this truck a little over a year. I tagged this as a trade because I’m certain that I’ll not get even close to what I have in this. Plus I’m done with getting vehicles that I do not have the time, skill, longevity in one spot (active army), etc. I’m tired of paying for expensive repair/mods/improvements to mechanics. Maybe when I retire in 7 years…. I’m trading a rare bird here; a very solid platform for someone to make great.
It will take something great. I’m willing to trade for a turn-key DD, or minimum rust FJ40 (E-67) I might go to 73, with hardtop, hard doors, and bench/troop seats. I want the original inline 6 or rebuilt equivalent. I prefer a factory color, original in fine. Tasteful mods are ok; lift, larger tires, lockers, roll bar, discs,double-reservoir brake master, etc, nothing crazy though. No V8’s, no diamond plating, cut up dash, crazy gauges, ect.

What I’ve done, or paid someone to do:
NEW BFG KM2’s 255x85x16 (4) no spare
NEW OME Deluxe suspension kit
4 non usa split wheels; I have 3 more spares too
NEW Emblems; TOYOTA front, TOYOTA rear, DIESEL front, LAND CRUISER sides, 4WHEEL DRIVE rear
New shift knobs; trans and xfer
NEW shift boots trans and xfer
New TOYOTA rear light assemblies
NEW Cheap front turn sig assemblies
NEW headlights
NEW fog light repros (SOR)
NEWER Injectors
NEW glow plugs (BOSCH) 6 new spares
Starter and alternator replaced with Cummins off of a late model wrecked Dodge; 80 amp now vs 40 amp. The truck starts fast and on the first try.
I’m forgetting several things…. I’ll edit as I remember things.
I sourced two FJ40 buckets from an 1981; driver needs to be reupholstered
The troopie seats are there minus the passenger bottoms

DRIVETRAIN condition: The troopie made the 400 mile round trip to Marshall’s with no incident. Did not burn oil or get hot at all. Truck smokes a little on startup then clears. Runs strong. Shifts fine (trans and xfer). Clutch is fine. Brakes work well. Axles seem fine.
Body and chassis: The body had the Central American bondo skimming over most of it. I’m certain it is not due to rust… well maybe in the doors. There is a nickel sized rust though hole around the front cowl. There are other spots but not as bad as my old troopie. I’ll take pics of anything requested. The frame looks to be in good shape with surface rust.
The overall condition of this truck is good. It is a solid platform I feel. If you’ve been waiting on a Left hand drive troopie with the factory running gear, here’s your chance.
Email me with ANY questions or pic requests. Test drives are absolutely welcomed and encouraged. I’ll be at GSMTR in it if does not peak any interest. I’M IN NO RUSH AND I’M NOT DESPARATE TO SELL. I just bought a Spartan locker for it this morning. Thanks for looking.

Not sure. I hope not since I paid to have the lift installed.

To answer the pm's and email asking for an outright sale; $19,500.

Yeah, I know... that's why I'm hoping for a trade.

very impressive rig!!!

I saw it at marshalls!

Too bad my 40 (your old 40) now has a v8

Nice rig, PM sent

Trade

How about trading my trail rig for yours. The family likes the camping expedition stuff more than the rougher stuff.{Yes I should have kept my 8o}

Daniel, wish it was in budget. This is one of my dream rigs! I could actually fit my family and also wheel topless. Oh man. Sure you don't want a low milage 80? :)

I've seen this one in person great rig and great guy

GLWS!

Thanks to the Upstate crew for the nice words.

That is a good looking GMC! Not exactly what I'm looking for.

Any interior shots?
