Well, I am doing the unthinkable by putting my BJ44 up for sale. I tried to sell it 2 years ago but changed my mind. This time is for real. Take a look at my craigslist ad 1981 Toyota Landcruiser BJ44 RARE. I didn't get a chance to take pics of the paint difference tonight, I will get it tomorrow. Main thing is what was done before the paint which was the rear corner being replaced. This rig is now 95% rust free. The bottom of the rear ambie doors and front left fender still have fiberglass but it is not noticeable. If I get the paint finished I will be asking for more $$.

Wow! I can't believe you are selling! Any way you are interested in an 80 as trade?

Yeah I'm taking the plunge. I'm selling it to fund my future new toy, a vrod

Or just trade me for my bike:

No offense but that's a far cry from a Vrod. Nice looking bike though.

I love that truck! Trying to sell both my cruisers we shall see!

3 more. The bottom of the door is one of the Ambulance doors. Both have fiberglass on them. The PO did this and had been like this for over 6 years.

Last one for now. The only parts left that I would have liked to have fixed are the left front fender. Under the blinker on that fender it has a fairly small hole that was fiberglassed (PO again), but from the top of the fender you would have no idea. THe last part is the front of the hood. The front of the hood has a little spidering and what looks like chips that were painted over. Not terrible but I have been picky in the past. The front floor pans have been replaced as well as the rear right corner, the flat part with the hole in it where the roof post goes in, both side have new metal. The inside corners where the bottoms of the ambie doors meet the tub both HAD fiberglass but are new sheetmetal now. I Will have to get pics later of that if you'd like. What I mentioned earlier is what I believe to be the only 2 spots remaining that potentially have any rust. ALL the big stuff has been taken care of with new metal.

Here is an older pic with the roof on. I do not have a more recent shot since the roof has been off for 3 years.

I don't know whether to congratulate you to cry over a beer with you!

Enjoy the new bike!

Thanks James!! The truck is beautiful! I've been driving it every day since it arrived on the 20th of Aug. Shipped from Idaho by DAS without a problem but I've since found out that its touch and go with them and I just got lucky.

I put some 15" wheels on it from my 4runner and am getting 23mpg around town and just drove 4hrs to the mountains camping and on the way there got 19mpg with lots of uphill 4wheeling while there, but got 24.9mpg on the way home. I was pumped!! Kept it around 100km/hr and it ran like butter. The kids love it!

Plans are to put a roof rack on it and possibly a 5spd. trans.

This thing can climb!

To everyone out there, James is a stand up guy, supper honest and no hassle. I couldn't be happier!

Man O man, the 44 is looking good. I am glad y'all are enjoying it. At least it is getting out and about. It sat in my garage too much while I had it. Keep the pics coming, I love it!

Couple more pics for ya James.

Also, it turns out that the 17" wheels were causing it to get lower MPG's. I was getting 19-20mpg before the switch to the 15". I'm curious how it will change with 30.5s or 31s? We'll see.
