Really not sure if I want to do this but I have a few business ventures going so might be wise to sell but IDK. Planning on keeping it but I could be motivated. Testing the waters I guess.
1980 HJ47 Troopy
2H redone - bottom end rebuilt prior tomy ownership and cylinders sleeved. Very clean. I replaced the head replaced over the winter. The old one had cracks. I bought a lightly used one (less than a year) from a friend who grenaded his bottom end.
Engine runs great. Excellent torque and sounds excellent.
New exhaust done last Tuesday
New alternator, hoses, brakes, water pump, glow plugs, ignition glow wires, door panels, seats, thermostat housing, etc. Way too much to list. My favorite part is the plastic trim piece that covers the roof to body seam. Its perfect. I've only ever seen pieces those in pieces.
New corbeau bucket seats up front. I have the troopy rear jump seats reupholstered in black.
Greatest Cruiser graphics of all time.....
To be finished-
Have a new headliner...just needs to be glued in and I suck at that
Have a fold n tumble seat for the back with seat belts
Have new tie rod ends in a box to be installed. easy.
The underside (frame ,wings, mounts, etc) of this is the cleanest original I've ever seen. Amazing.
The bad-
The only bad part is the inside wheel wells inside the cabin...the points where the jump seats bolt in are junk. Someone put seam sealer in it and painted over it. The replacement panels are available. I was putting in a fold and tumble anyway so it doesn't bother me. Underneath is perfect.
There is seam sealer in some odd spots inside the truck that was painted over. Laziness I imagine. This was a father/son resto in Australia so the cut those corners. This is NOT a frame-off resto but its the nicest rig I've owned.
There is one hole the size of a half dollar on the drivers floor which has been covered....aside from that the body is excellent. There are still plenty of original spot welds down the side.
When you look at the metal from underneath its original, not coated and clean. Very clean.
Again, I don't really want to sell but I have 2 startup businesses going so would sell for the right offer.
$39k
Located Millis MA. MA title in hand. Have it inspected. IF you're spending that much you should come look at it in person. Will be picking away at things like the tie rod ends, etc as I go.
