1979/80 Model Year Build Date...

Would a US FJ40 with a Dec 1979 build date be considered a 1979 or 1980 model? Is there any way to confirm?

The model year is on the under-hood emission sticker, bottom paragraph. If it is a California spec vehicle, the sticker will be different, but will still include the model year.

Thanks for the responses guys. Unfortunately, the truck no longer has the emissions sticker under the hood.

Maybe try this....

Does your spare tire carrier look like the red one or the yellow one?
The red one is a 79 and before and the yellow is an 80 on
