This is only my second post, so hope I'm following the rules... I purchased a 1977 FJ45 from B.C. last September and have been completing a restoration this past winter in the Toronto area. I finally got the truck on the road this week, and thought it was about time I posted a few pics.

Major changes have included: added power steering; restored original doors; restored original split rims and mounted BFG 33s; added Hell for Stout front bumper and Warn 8274; added custom rear bumper and auxilliary gas tank; replaced braking system; exterior paint.

Cheers, James

welcome! cool truck. you can never go wrong with stock! get a good used 'toyota' tailgate and you're good to go!

Looks great!

What size are the BFG A/Ts you've got there? I was under the impression that there wasn't anything that tall/skinny available for the 16" wheels (looks like I'm wrong--happily)

Dan

Thanks Dan,

Thought I had the specs for the tires with me, but they are in the glovebox of the truck - give me a couple of days, and I'll get the tires size for you. James

Hi again Dan,

Okay, the BFG tires specifications are as follows: LT235/85R16. The ratings and full specs for these A/Ts can be found on the B.F. Goodrich website.

Cheers, James

Thanks Bob,

Yeah, actually a little too clean! I have a couple of small fixes to do - replace a motor mount, fix a minor power steering hose leak - then I hope to get it less clean! James

Thanks Peterman,

The whole assembly is designed to come apart quickly with quick release pins, leaving only the skeleton roll cage. There is a tray on top of the storage box and spare, with drainage holes and tie downs for additional storage on top. I'd post a few more pictures, but it sems like I'm limited to only three pics in total at the moment. The spare tire bracket is hinged and swings down for (relatively) easy access - the split rim and tire are not exactly light! Downside is that there is a fair amount of weight up high. The longer term plan is to cover the whole bed with a canvas top. James

I've sorted out my trial runs issues now - fixed a leaky power steering hose connection, and replaced a broken engine mount. Actually, I replaced all of the engone mounts while I was at it. Wheel alignment and tailpipe replacement are schedule for this coming week.

Nice to see a new proud LWB45 * owner
Enjoy your sweetie ;)
Cheers
Peter

* nice 16 split rims, don`t know why the US guys don`t like
them.
In a few years they search & pay astronomical prices for them that`s for sure ( always the same ) :D
