Nice!

did some welding. did some reding up in the place and found a roll bar, so i found a better place to store it.

looking like flat tan is where the paint is headed.

got the passenger side rocker taken care of this morning....that was the last panel that needed replaced. also finished most of the welding on the drivers side.
still have plenty of welding on the passenger side and underneath it yet. i'm not going to put any plastic filler on this thing. anything that needs filled is getting leaded in.

Who did you get your sheet metal from? Someday Im going to have to bite the bullet and start cutting off cancer and replacing it on my truck. Every time I look at sheet metal prices I cringe and go back to looking for a used tub.

Nice work by the way.

ccot almost entirely. the rear bed section came from real steel, but it seems their quality took a sudden and massive nose dive shortly after i received my sample.
all the panels fit like a snug glove and well worth the coin.

Brian looks great! looks like you welded your new rocker over the old one? Are you replacing the brackets behind your rockers from your old ones? My 77 will be going through the same process, need to keep an eye on how your are doing things.

Nice curves. Can't wait until mine gets some new metal.

Oem fenders?

yeap:D. i thought about going aftermarket. but decide that these being front and center as they are, any imperfection would be too noticeable. even though i'm doing things differently with some of the other body seams, i wanted the front fenders perfect.
now seeing them in place only fortifies my decision to spend the money.

finally found a weekend away from work.....only to work on the cruiser.
most of the body welding is finished, a lot of the grinding is done as well. going to do any body filling with lead, not plastic. ordering seats is the next step. then pulling the old wiring harness out of the dash.

so i foolishly thought i had clean, straight windshield frame. i when dismembered the truck this was on i ended up having to twist off the knob that keeps the frame upright on the cruiser. no biggie, i'll just remove the little tab that bolts onto the frame, that the knob screws in. both of those two 6mms spun off um well ok, i'll just drill them out and be on my way. first one goes as planned. second one i give the center punch a good smack, and the twisted fastener and the nut it's in disappear inside the frame, huh? a flash light later and the mouse nest that was built in the that corner is removed but only to reveal a soft corner and no meat for the windshield retaining hardware.
of all the frame i have, this is the nicest one, so it's worth this little bit of effort.

decided to go with another windshield frame. turns out the original frame from the tub made the grade after all. i'll need to replace the windshield seal, but the glass is perfect.
i don't know what it is about these frames, but they are some serious mouse magnets. this one had a nest in it as well. it even had the defrost vents still in it.
