1975 FJ40 --SBC TBI HEI runs great in Oregon

SOLD
1975 FJ40
It has the original 4 speed, steering and brakes.

Upgrades/repairs:
Wiring has all been gone through as well as all fuel and coolant lines replaced.
New CCOT steel gas tank (new hoses, sending unit,...)
Electric Taurus fan with temp control and override switch for water crossings
Engine is a rebuilt SBC(NOW DEAD). It is a 1964 283(small block Chevy). I added a HEI ignition and a Holley 2D Pro-jection fuel injection system(including Holley 2d manifold).
New Optima Red Top
custom built alternator
a/f gauge to make tuning easy
new exhaust front to back
New floorboards in front
Rebuilt axles
Hardtop
New master cylinder
New tires and wheels
New Champion 3 row aluminium radiator(not installed)
New side mirrors
HID headlight conversion with glass lenses.
misc.

I bought this thing a few years ago in boxes. I finished it up and it WAS running and driving. The radiator leaks all so I don't drive it long or far. The TBI needs final tuning but it DID start and run. I am used to the f and 2f so this thing has scary power. I focused on making a reliable rig that is going to run great with very little tinkering. The interior is in pretty good shape too.

UPDATE: I was driving it around town and it stopped running. It wont turn over but it isn't dripping oil. I took the valve cover and the intake off and it has a push rod that is missing! I assume it slipped down and is what is holding up the show. I considered a crate shortblock but dont have the time to mess with it and just want it gone.

It has a bumper hitch that is included with it. I have towed with it several times including up and down I5 without any problems.

$2250 OBO
Located in Corvallis, OR

WELL I was horseing around and things went BANG last week. As the engine rebuild seemed to have lots of missed stuff and oopses I assume there was a loose rod cap or the like and the engine is now messed up. It will not turn over so I am guessing the bottom end is in a BAD way.

If a guy with some time had a SBC laying around this would be a easy winter project.
SO make me an offer on this thing or trade me for something!

I would love a good mig welder or an airstream.

ive got a minty Millermatic 140autoset..... and would throw in a new spoolgun and 2 tanks.(1 argon, 1argon c02mix). I can show you how to weld in no time and you can get cracking on your fj55.

what does the frame look like? Is it all rusted out?

Sent you a msg via CC's forum.

Mydogpea- In general if you want to make an offer on something in a private message, it is common courtesy. No I wont sell it to you for $1500. I am generous but I am not running a charity. I will sell the fuel injection off it and send the rest to be crushed first.

I have too many projects right now and I don't have time to work on this vehicle. I am not out of work and hurting for cash. If it doesn't sell for a reasonable price I will just keep it.
