I have For Sale (not at my home/location) a 1972 FJ40 that I started the restore on atleast 10 years ago, been in storage ever since then. I'm looking for something in the $4500.00 area. Details:
1. Body work mostly done , few very small dings, grey primer, rear corners already replaced, virgin rear wheel wells, zero rust.
2. 1972 Title with newer one-piece hood, custom dash sheet metal, new tinted windshield.
3. Full set of factory soft top bows, primered. Matching soft top doors with sheet metal skins installed.
4. Brand new (in the original box) Kayline tan denim top for factory bows, with tinted windows.
5. Brand new "Beard" bucket seats with matching Kayline tan denim seat covers (2" wider seats).
6. No other interior, gauges, or wiring (will need a harness).
7. Frame stripped, painted gloss black, new F & R "Downey" spring assemblies.
8. Disc brake front end, rebuilt by Marks Off Road, zero miles.
9. Posi rear end, rebuilt by Marks Off Road, zero miles.
10. No engine, tranny, or transfer-case, just very nifty complete body, differentials, and springs.

I am by no means an expert and my baseline for used parts may be lower than others but I think $5500 is a reasonable ask for this project. I can PM you my break down but you get the gist...

I would love to see pictures as s spectator.

Jim, IIRC, it's about TWENTY years since I worked on that truck! IIRC, it was not only a FST, but it was that non-US market copper color. That was one clean tub.
