I almost feel a little bad for him, I've bought from purple wave before and everything is as is where is. you have to pay before you go pick up so likely the first time he saw it in person it was already paid for and he owned it. I'd have been pissed...I'd have also driven to check it out in person before I put a bid in, or not bid at all... Like you say at least he's just trying to break even and he's certainly being more transparent about the condition than the seller was when he bought it
