1968 FJ40 Under dash bracket function

Cleaning the under dash of a 1968 FJ40.
There are two brackets i can remember the function.

The one on the right with the one hole i think is for the vent lever.

The other longer one have no clue.

I think you're right that it goes to the cowl vent. No idea on the longer one. I found some pictures here that may help you.

It looks like a cable attachment, so maybe the throttle knob. My 71 had one there, I think. It was a really long time ago.

My 1970 FJ40 has the Cowl Vent control attached to the bottom side of the dash. The one just to the left of it is the 4WD control, which is also attached to the dash. Just to the left of that is the 4WD Hi/Low control and then to the left of that is the Parking Brake. Could it be the Parking Brake mount

Cowl vent control on the right. The long bracket on the left supports my four wheel drive handle (vacuum switch). Hope the pictures help.
