looks awesome! How doed the bottom seat cushion feel? My seats are freshly redone but after driving it a while I am starting to hate the bottom cushion...needs more support on the sides of your bum.

also, any updates on the pull handles :-)

I am going to take mine by the local upholstery shop which is only a few blocks from me and see if they have any ideas on how to beef up the sides of the cushion. To me (and I have a bony butt LOL) it feels like I am sitting on a balloon or something after breaking them in a bit...most support in the middle than the sides so your butt sorta wants to roll off to the side one way or the other. Would love a more cupped shape like a modern seat...course that wont look right. I like the old bench too much to swap it out for some fancy bucket seats!

yours has these braces? maybe the problem where it feels like ball

Im not sure...the guy I bought my 40 from had them re-done and never put them in the truck. It had some buckets mounted in it when I picked it up...the bench seat was like new and very nicely done...so I have not seen the guts inside. Feels like either the foam is compacting or the springs are weak on the sides...been driving it too much lately to want to take the seat out! ;-) But the more I drive it the more I want to do something about it! That pic has me curious now though I bet I can feel those in there if they are there! Those braces would definetely stiffen up the outside springs. hmmm going out to shop to fondle my seat cushion!

edit...pretty sure those braces are in there not 100% though may just be feeling the outer rim above the bracing... wonderin if the outside springs are just getting weak or maybe some r broken. Gonna have to pull it apart dangit. Will save that pic for reference!

My SOR set came with the same black half tube clips but I don't know where they go? Also, it came with string that looks like a shoe lace and more of the seam plastic. I have no idea what to do with it.

As far as the pulls go, I'm looking for the two that go on the sides. You still makin those?? :-)

String is for get tight underneed the bench and after that you put the screws to holds
and the black half tube are to tight the back seat upholstery on the interior springs,
for the side pulls im working on them

Thanks, really appreciate it!

Beats me I have the same doo-hickey on my 69. I have wondered the same thing...maybe some kinda rubber bumper to keep the tool box lid from rattling?

Oya how tall are you. I am 6'4" and figured out a good way to modify the seat to go at least 2" inches farther back. HUGE improvement for me!
link to some pics of my mod... https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-seri...g-room-us-long-legged-daddys.html#post5615901 Cool thing is you can still use the slider and move it up for shorter people.

I put all the way back also
and one of the next problem to fix is , when is all the way the rear bench seat hits the metal back from the Driver Seat when it been fold up....................what about that????
