1968 Fj 40 So here is the story...this FJ40 was abandoned on a lady's property in the mountains of Colorado several years ago. The lady called JC (THANKS motoloco!!) and offered it to him for free. He generously offered it to the Rising Sun Club. I went with a few of our members and hauled it out of the snow and to my house. A few parts were taken by our members, and now we have decided to sell it outright or part it out. ALL proceeds will be donated to one of our Land Use organizations. I would love to sell this 40 in one piece, it is still very close to being a running, driving 40. But I have NO title. Should be easy to bond out a title or get a title from a deceased 40.

The bad...the owner (original since 1973 according to the records found in the truck, including registrations) had some....shall we say...mental issues. He basically spent the last 30 years trying to make the truck more "aerodynamic". So it has some "tweaks". Some rust and VERY interesting patch jobs. Awesome hood scoop on the hood. :D V8 conversion, but has newer tranny and tcase...74 or 75 according to his records.

The good...pretty complete. I removed the piece of plywood from the roof and there are only 4 small bolt holes. Apparently the plywood blocked some space rays.... This would actually be a great start for a rock crawler or plow truck...or even a frame-up restoration if you wanted to bond out a title. Would definitely consider selling it outright. Feel free to email me for details or PM me here or Rising Sun. Thanks!

$2500. You can view it in a storage lot in North Aurora now, maybe my driveway next week. Needs to be gone soon.

but a 60 I can park somewhere else, or let a good friend use it since she has a tiny subcompact car with 2 kids....she needs a 60 in our snow! :)

If my Monday guy backs out you might have a trade deal...

especially if you DROVE the 40 down -- I'd pay gas both ways! :grinpimp:

if it was running I would love to do that! but then again I would probably just keep it then. :)

$500 gets this. I need it out. There are $500 in the top and doors alone...

got 2 co-workers peering over my shoulder, drooling, and one has a buddy in Denver who can scoop it up. Does it have a carb and distributor, or know vintage of motor?

hey Ben, the hardtop panels are in great shpae. the cap is just ok, no rain gutter and a couple of small holes where he bolted in the plywood to keep the space rays away... :)
