Lol I wish. Between spring things and small issues I haven't made much progress since the last update.
We did get it fired up but its only running on 5 cylinders. The dead holes are getting spark, we pulled the fuel rails and injectors and they're getting fuel... The wizard thinks the wiring harness is to blame.
My gas pedal wasn't gas pedalling due to the tac module being b/o. Swapped in the one from the fj40 and it was better but the actual dbw pedal might be dicked too. Took a ride out to the pick and pull and snagged 3 modules, 3 pedals and 3 throttle bodies just in case.
I filled the tranny before starting it and found a leak at the big round electrical plug on the side. It must have gotten pushed in during the install. Kind of a s***ty design imop. Ordered a new internal harness, drained the trans and popped the pan off only to realize the harness I ordered had one connector that was different and the big round plug fit the same as the old one. So the old harness went back in and the pos round plug got some permatex and a zip tie to help hold it in place and seal it.
Now that that plug wasn't pushed in it stuck out the side of the trans a little further and interfered with shifter cable bracket version 2.13. Made up version 3.14 the other day and everything seems to play nice now.
All thats really left is to wire up the electric fans and figure out why those 3 cylinders aren't firing..
There was good news believe it or not lol. The fuel lines I made up don't leak, the fuel pump pumps and the cooling system doesn't leak. Thats something.
We ended up testing the harness pin by pin and 3 coil wires were mixed up which coincided with the 3 cylinders not firing. Perfect.
Still didnt have a throttle pedal though, it would read 24% at idle then cut off at 37% when we pressed gradually and 164% at full throttle if we matted it. Turns out the ecu is for an 04 05 truck and the dbw pedal/tac module are for an 06 07 truck. Luckily Rob had the right pedal and module on stash and after going for a quick rip we had the parts we needed.
Still needs some more tuning and the fans/ fuel pump wired in but at least I'm 2 steps closer...
The dbw pedal/tac module I got with the motor were from an 06/07 truck, the ecu is from an 04/05 and they didnt like each other apparently. The right pedal is the steel 04/05 unit as opposed to the plastic 06/07 one.
They were completely different as well so I had to chop the new one a bit. The base at the firewall that I had made still worked but put the pedal in an awkward position.
