Played around with the adult Legos again last night a bit. Got the new cam, retainer, timing set, and oil pump in and threw a new seal in the timing cover.

Note, toyota manual hub gears work great as spacers when installing the new timing sprocket on the crank using the old crank bolt.

Got the call from the machine shop today, they started dicking with the heads. They need a resurface and the exhaust valves need a valve job due to some pitting. Intake valves still seal good.

Many moons ago (1997) I had a 1970 c10 short bed fleetside. It’s had a sbc w little cam, 350 trans w a shift kit. I picked it
up for $1800. I had it for about a year and traded it off for a 4wd Nissan extra cab. I wanted rear seats for the kidos. Big regret. I miss that truck dearly. Not sure if it was the fun we had in it or just that era in life! Really enjoy watching your build, awesome truck! Keep up the good work!

My first truck that was given to me by my stepfather was a red 1989 Nissan king cab 2wd! I wanted it to be 4wd so damn bad lol.

Picked up some treat bags earlier today. They look so fresh and so clean now! More importantly the valves seal and the mating surfaces are flat again.

Made a bit of progress last night... kinda. I prematurely put the front main seal in the timing cover so I couldn't use the alignment tool to align said cover.. like a dummy I kept on trucking and put the cover and the pan on. Gonna take it apart tonight, pop the seal out and make sure everything is aligned and centered.

Just have to run out and grab a 12 point socket to torque the rocker shafts down.
