WTB: 1965 FJ40 throttle linkage and gas pedal set:

Mine is just too worn out and missing pieces.

I did get it fixed. Thank you though. Turns out the linkage "U" was welded by a previous owner and was the cause of most of the bind. A little grinding and some welding/grinding on a couple other parts, its working mostly. I think I'll end up swapping to a cable throttle in the end.
U takes the brunt of the wear and, IMO, the angle of the slot wasn't optimal from the beginning. The first time I welded mine up, I just tried to return it to stock. The second time, I actually paid more attention and ended up rotating the slot about 5 degrees. That seemed to match the arc of movement better.

For purposes of studying the arc, I found it was easier to see the pattern by disconnecting the linkage in the engine compartment. Once U was repaired, I reconnected the linkage and moved on to the ovaled out hole in S and the two grooves in Y. That took care of 80% of the slop.

Yeah, My S was also ovaled. I welded on two washers to either side which helped that. And the Y part was worn a good bit too. If I'm quoting you correctly in another post Mark, It's quite a "rube goldberg design".
Yes it is. It’s best to think of it as an ‘economizer’. Kind of like how Mr. T hid a bolt under the carpet in the FJ60s that kept you from getting full throttle.
