Here is another question. Why do the early 40's have the latches to fold the windshield down but they do not have the bumper pads to rest the windshield on? This one is like this and original?

This is because the cruiser came as a hardtop model ... hence no need to fold it down

Later cruisers came with bumpers regardless ht or soft

On my 65 fj45 my hood is bare I think because with the heater defroster deflector guides you can't put the windshield down because they actually come up into the windshield frame.
My fj45 is the short wheelbase with a removable hardtop.

window should fold, we'll at least my 66 fj45 long bed does and it has stock heater with defrost. Hood has correct bumpers and hooks. 65-67 fj45 should be the same.

45 wagon also nevery had any hood hardware for window to fold....cause the window can't fold
