Guess I should be happy its free.

I put a piece of tape on the cabin filter door with “recirc” printed on it. After getting car back, said they inspected/replaced filter. Tape still there, old filter with mild dirt still there.

Least they left tire pressure alone at 42, yet still wrote down they adjusted it to 34.

guarantee they didnt even touch/check driveshafts grease level.

Get what you pay for i guess. Serious Toyota network fail, I’m embarrassed for them.

Where are you in SoCal?

If you are close enough or can make the drive, San Diego Trux is where I take my LC and would never go to the dealer if I bought a new one. I cannot emphasize how awesome they are, they only use OEM parts and both John’s mechanics are ASE certified. Check them out.

I cannot agree more re SD Trux. It's the only place I'd take our LXs.

Have you thought about taking this information back to the service manager just to let them know how poorly their service was? As a manager, I would want to know this of my staff. You may never use them again, but they can't fix the problem if they don't hear the complaint. Just a thought.

I had a similar recent experience. Based on most MUD inputs I opted to not call, etc. But then I got an online survey. I gave them 3 (of 5) stars, and got a follow-up email from the service department manager. I gave him the whole story. He wrote back and asked what they could do to make it right. I responded that people do have bad days so I wasn't going to request anything, just letting him know.

That closed out the incident for me (and apparently him as he hasn't emailed again).

+1 for SD Trux. Worked with John and Darrell to get front spring spacers installed. Very knowledgable, competitive pricing, and they’re cruiser guys! Definitely going back to them!

I marked all tires once at a Toyota dealer in Utica, NY when it went in for oil/filter/rotation. Checked tires, same spots-
Service manager even “checked with the tech, and he assures me he rotated them, but we can do it again if you can wait.” I asked if he knew the difference between rotating a tire in a circle, and performing a tire rotation before I brought him out to my vehicle to show him every tire marked -FL, FR, RL, RR in exactly those locations. And the wheels were plenty dirty, without a handprint on any of them.

I guess I am lucky. My dealer just service yesterday becauseI am at 15k. I marked the tires... rotation done. Did not touch my tire pressure as per my request due to LT tires.

... but instead of just ending it there, they accidentally gave me the 20k mile service which includes an oil change.

I need to make sure that they delete this so that I can get back on schedule for my next oil change.

Did you make sure they put oil in before driving off? Verify filter was changed by looking for prints? Skids all replaced?

Dealers are anxiety inducing for me.....

Out the rascals, they can only keep getting away with it as long as it's kept quiet!

This is a perfect example of why I have tried to explain to people that buying only vehicles with documented service history is pointless and just provides a false sense of security. You don't know for sure, 100%, that any of that was actually DONE. Ive worked in a major dealership service department and saw what goes on there.

At the service department you worked at, were the techs paid by the job or by the hour? Some years back I worked as a mechanic and the only places I saw it were at places that paid by the job - a percentage of labor and sometimes a percentage on parts. IMHO, that practice incentivizes techs to cheat the system.

Good point. But at this dealer it was both. The lower level techs were paid by the hour, and the upper level ones were paid by the job.
