Hey All,
Off hand, would anyone know the part number for the AC pulley for the 15BT motor? I'm trying to get one of JoeKatana's AC kits installed in a 1990 BJ73. It has the 3BII motor, and apparently the kit is built around a regular old 3B, so the pulley is the wrong spec.

He says he believes that it shares a pulley with the 15BT, so I'm hoping to try & track one down via a US toyota order, or possibly Cruier Solutions if they have them in hand.

Just not sure how to search for that part exactly.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Best,
Abe

I have a 15B-FT from a 2001 Coaster bus, so I looked at that parts diagram.
It is likely that you may need to look at older applications

Look up RaddCruisers in Canada.

They have parts like this.

If you mean the crankshaft pulley for the AC belt, it's the same for all B Series engines (where a separate pulley is used), 88451-25020.

Thanks All!

I've been digging through every parts page I can find to try & figure it out. So far I'm still just a bit lost. I don't want to just keep ordering parts hoping its the right one. I used Toyodiy to figure out my truck is a 10/80 (correction 10/89) production date. And they do say 88451-25020 is the part number (as mentioned above by Eurasiaoverland. I'm just a bit concerned at Joe says that the 3BII takes something else. I'm also seeing pics of the 15b variant of motors, and it looks like just a big singular nut on it, instead of the 6 bolts. So I'm just not sure. I really wish the truck weren't disassembled at a shop 50 miles away as it would be easier to confirm things if it were here.

@AlbertoSD @bottombracket - Joe mentioned tagging you guys as you've both got 15BT's in your trucks. Any ideas, or way to confirm what I need by chance? Also, is the AC pulley on your truck just a single nut, or it is a 6bolt pattern like the 3B variants?

Also going to post a pic from my phone from the shop. Maybe it will help a bit. As above, thanks to anyone that might be able to help me sort this out!

Thanks!
Abe

You stated firstly that you had a 1990 BJ73. Would be a 1989 build? Now you are saying October 1980. Which is it?

For it to have a 3BII, the build date would need to be between 08/1988 to 12/1989.

If it's a European market BJ73 with a 1990 build date, then it is probably a VM motor, nothing to do with a 3B and all bets are off for the pulley

You only posted a single picture, looks like a used part, but it is not a crankshaft 'main' pulley.

The 15B-FT is not a good comparison as they used dual row pulleys. I have a 3BII, a 15B-T and I also have pulleys for a 14B and can tell you they all run the same 6 bolt spacing. They all have '1 big bolt' which is the crankshaft pulley bolt. The 6 bolts are for accessory pulleys, they are not an alternative system. And all Land Cruiser 3Bs after at least 1982, all 3BIIs, have the 6 bolt holes on the crank pulley, regardless of whether they came with AC.

I'm also running Beno's old 1985 3B power steering pulley on a 14B crank pulley.

End of the day, the aftermarket part you got for your engine doesn't fit. Buy the correct part - luckily for you they are still available new.

But let's first confirm what engine you have (with pictures). Please also share your frame number or VIN so we can confirm.

Sorry, typo. 10/1989. In the US that would be a 1990 model year. It is not a VM motor, it is a 3BII, I only posted the one pic of the pulley, with the kit pulley beneath it, as that's all I've got. I don't have the truck here, but I'll see if I can find some pics of it from the past on my phone. Good to hear about them all using the same pulley. That gives me some real hope! Pics to come, I have to get on my phone for that.
Thanks!

OK, thanks for sharing. That is definitely a 3BII. The part number I gave will 100% fit the original crankshaft pulley. Aftermarket parts are a lottery - genuine parts are a guaranteed fit.

There is another thread on MUD where someone had one of those kits which would not fit a 13B-T. Once they had this correct AC pulley, I recall that the aftermarket AC compressor in the kit still fitted correctly.

Thanks! I’ll order one now!

Abe, hope you get it sorted. I’m in the process of getting my grubby little paws on a 15BFT, but I don’t have one in my barn yet.

Keep us all posted.
