Does anyone know where to get a nice 12V light that goes into the cig ligher? maybe with a clip on base...
I want this for the roof top tent to read in, and the ones I found are all like 1.000.000 candles, and a complete overkill, or the dinky useless dim dash lights. I need something in between.

thank you!

FJ60's came stock with a little 12V work light (the kind with the cage around the bulb) that plugged into a 2-spade outlet in the glove box. You could always cut the plug off and wire up a cig lighter adapter, but for just use in a RTT, I'd get a battery powered LED light, or a battery powered flourescent lantern, and not mess with running cord down to the car.

Yes, I have that light, but don't want to mangle it. I could of course get a second one...

I just put a dual battery system in, and have now 2 outlets in the back of the truck that draw only from the deep cycle aux battery-hence the question.

thanks,
Jan

Warn or ARB I think makes a nice 12v fluorescent light.

Got the ARB florescent and it is really brite...and only draws 1-amp...we use it inside our tent and also around camp...I am probably going to get another one I like it sooooo much! And even though it's a florescent it seems just as brite when it's cold out!

http://www.rallylights.com has a Hella that is pretty nice. I think they might sell a similar one at Cabelas. Rally Lights website is down this weekend though.

This was last year but I picked up a 12v fluorescent light with a cig. lighter plug and battery clips for less than $5.00 at Big Lots.
