It's really just the fugly headlight shape for me. I'm not a huge fan of the gx470 headlight shape either, but it's not as egregious as the Prado. And yeah comparing stock to stock, IMO the Prado 120 definitely looks the worst out of all those models you listed

They all look great lifted with tires and other mods of course, but I'll just never like that headlight shape or horrible grille design some Prados have. There's a guy in the 460 forum that swapped a TRD style 150 series front clip and taillights onto his pre-facelift gx460, and it looks phenomenal. Probably the best looking configuration of the family

Yeah I like them a lot. I'll eventually replace that 4runner with a GX460, probably once we have a 3rd kid, and I'll look to do some similar "facelifting" to it. Something like this would be much easier/cheaper for a somewhat similar front end aesthetic to the green one.Nice work. If he could only do one more thing, it would be to change the rear door.
And by the way the faceleft prado 150 has the best design for me even better than the new prado.

Also a non-base model 4th Gen 4runner looks much better than the ugly grey plastic fender flares and bumpers on that one you posted. Here's an older one of mine.

The grey two tone was also only a thing on the first year or two if I'm not mistaken. Definitely went away with the facelift in 06 at least.Totally!
Limited vs SR5... trim levels make a difference!!
