Wow...the way it is currently snowing here in Reno we may have some snow on the mountain to play in tomorrow on our Christmas Tree Run!

Are you serious? It's perfectly clear here, warm, and has not rained with conviction this year. Since our weather becomes your weather, I don't see how a big snow is possible.

90% likelyhood I will see you tomorrow. I'll be on 146.460. No CB-I took it out and don't plan to put it back. Is there a Reno repeater you guys will be monitoring prior to 9am?

What time is the train leaving Reno?

Is there a good breakfast place in the area where we will get off of I-80?

Andy...yeah...looking out my office window and it's still snowing. The flakes were huge and many until the past several minutes. Just a freak storm I guess. All 3 local tv weather "forecasters", at 6:15AM this morning, said "0% chance of precip for the foreseeable future! Got love 'em.

A few are going to meet at Bordertown at 8:00AM for breakfast http://www.google.com/maps?num=100&...4017,-119.942207&spn=0.108032,0.32856&iwloc=A

Sorry...not up on the repeaters there...but maybe Shawn or Dan J will chime in. We will be on 146.460

Let me know if you're coming and want me to bring the bbq...

Home safe and sound.

The only tree harvested today was by us. We got a nice 8 footer, it rode home just fine and we had a blast. We even got a tour of the back of the crystal peak area courtesy of Spressomon.

On the way home, we stopped with about 10,000 other people at the Cabelas store, the only place in the universe where the men's room has a line, and the women's does not. The store and particularly the gun library is extremely impressive.

Anyway-thanks to the Reno/Battle Born Cruisers for letting us tag along. Good to meet all the Dan's and everyone else. We'll be back next year with more tarps and 2 tree permits!

Well we had a great time nothing like wheeling with good peeps and was very nice meeting you Andy and Jeff and sorry but cant remember your Mom or wifes name? but was a great time and looks like me and John scored a free toyota 4x4 pickup out of the deal as well way cool look forward to next year for sure and hope Darcie is feeling better.

Started out at breakfast together at the Bordertown Casino...complete with Ratatouille ;-/. Andy with his wife Amy and son Jeff from the NorCal 80 Wagon's group (it was great to have you all along today!), Jack, Darcie, Dan, John, Dan's daughter and her friend made the run. Dan & Joanne joined us for breakfast before parting ways to a day of 'chores'.

It was a c-c-c-cold and blustery day up on the trails East of Frenchman's Res. We never even stopped for lunch, nog or anything more than looking/cutting a tree (Andy & Co.). Next year we may have to call this run the BBCNN Christmas UnTree Run =8^D

We drove the trail up to Adams Peak...and then the group made the mistake of putting me in the lead position...and those that know me can figure out we embarked on to new trails...some complete with pin striping opportunity! The trail took us South to Snow Lake which was really, as Andy coined it "Snow Puddle". The trail was scenic and new so we kept pushing on...back towards Chilcoot. It was interesting to note where we intersected Hwy 284 once again! I always thought this particular trail entrance off of Hwy 284 was just a gravel driveway to one of the homes. And it is, really, but it's a marked FS route and very scenic indeed.

Jack had a go at embarrassing the 80 contingency in a sand whoop...but 3rd time is charm and he finally coaxed his white 80 up the sand slope. Back at Hwy 284 1/2 the group left for Reno and Sacramento and the other 1/2 decided to push back North and make the drive to the top of Crystal Peak. This year, unlike last year, there was only a skiff of snow at the top. But it was windy and darn cold...

Anyway it was a nice day albeit without time for lunch, nog, whatever due to the cold and windy conditions.

Pic 2: Looking off to the West on a new (to us) trail South of Adams Peak/Mt. Adams.

Why is it the trees ALWAYS look smaller before they get into the car/house?

Nice.
Thought about bumming a ride again, but this was my first weekend home in a month.
Put up christmas lights in 34F + gusty instead...

Cold up there?

Yeah...you could say it was cold up there. Air temp wasn't too bad (28 on top of Adams/Crystal and 35ish down below) but the wind was whipping the wind chill down about 20 degrees

Nice shot of the doe! Did you recycle your pics or is the date in your camera a little behind? :D

I heard you CQ'n me but I was on the cell phone and couldn't break free. I tried CQ'n you back several times but we must have been out of range...
