I recently got into a HZJ105. Has the AWD T case selector and CDL button in the dash, but also has selectable front hubs. I am losing my marbles or has a previous owner installed part time kit on the truck.

Unlock the hubs without doing anything else and see what happens. If it drives normal, then I'd say yes.
If it revs but no motion then no, they just installed lockable hubs for whatever reason (or it came with them?) If it has a spool, it would move under load regardless of the position of the front hubs bc the rear driveshaft would be always powered.

Yeah, sorry should have added that the truck drives like a part time with front hubs unlocked. The dash CDL button still works and I can hear the actuator on the T case move as well. The truck is a base model (vinyl floors and barn doors) which it sounds like most came with PT 4WD, so I’m not sure if the hubs are a carryover for all base trucks? Based on the CDL components still being in the truck and wired in I’m gussets

Guessing it’s a previous mod. It’s a ex UN truck so I’m sure they put a spool and hubs in it to simplify/bulletproof the AWD system for their needs.
Not sure this is 100% reliable but perhaps you can go under there and have a look at the transfer case. As I understand it, the CDL and part time are mutually exclusive, so if you have the CDL then you have full time, and if you don't have CDL then you likely will have part time.
This is an R151F (I think) out of a 105 project of mine. The transfer case has no little motor on it. The little motor would be the CDL actuator.

Yes the truck left the factory with a center diff but the truck will move regardless of my CDL selection. I have the case out now and I think it might just have a spool in it. Haven’t taken the case apart.
