Listed below are all the 100 series TSBs (technical service bulletins) listed on the US National Highway Transportation Safety Administration website as of August 2007 and as many foreign bulletins and recalls as I could find. This may not be all or even most of the bulletins issued by Toyota. If you are aware of any other bulletins let me know by PM and I'll add them.

Lexus LX470 TSBs are here - LX470 TSB Thread (note that the Lexus TSBs are not identical and may cover common equipment even if Toyota did not issue a bulletin for the LC so I recommend checking both threads when dealing with a problem)

I will add a "MUD Notes:" line with any info that will be useful for board members that is not contained in the summary. For an example see the "Reverse to Park/Neutral Chatter" near the bottom of the 1998 list. This info should be from an authoritative source (i.e. the TSB) and could include a link to a forum thread focused on the TSB. If you have information and/or experience with a particular TSB and are willing to help other board members then I will list you as a PM contact if you want.

I found this Edmunds.com article on TSBs very informative and recommend that you read it.

You, Your Vehicle and the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) (from Edmunds.com)

Hope you find this useful. :)

Land Cruiser 100 and Lexus LX470—Dash Board Wire Harness Interference with Pedal Support

PRA number: 2008/10050 Date created: 26th May 2008

Defect Details:On certain Land Cruiser 100 and Lexus LX470 vehicles, there is a possibility that the dash board wire harness may be abnormally twisted changing its intended routing in the vehicle allowing contact with the unprotected edge of the pedal support bracket. If the vehicle is continuously driven on corrugated roads in this condition, the wire harness will rub against the pedal support bracket damaging the wire insulation cover resulting in a short circuit and blown fuse.

NMuzj100,

You may be aware that I wanted to get TSBs in the FAQs a year ago but did not receive a favourable response at the time, and it has come up again recently and I said I was unable to compile at the moment but would try in a few months if I had the time. The listing you have here looks great. Can the TSB's be download to the MUD site so that they are a permenant fixture on MUDs server, so we can get them from MUD and not from elsewhere when their site or server changes hands, or they decide not to archive them etc?
Good stuff
100 TD

NM, very nice effort to benefit the community! Thanks for the work. That is great. I'll put it in the FAQ right away. (For those of you who don't know, NM has been by far the most helpful contributor the FAQ as far as ideas for threads to include etc... thanks!)

Anybody who has additional info on the actual TSBs info (Alldata etc) and on how they are acted on by Toy dealers, please add the info to this thread!

I don't quite get the meaning of your post e9999, if you have smething to say to me come out and say it. Why can't the info from alldata (as previously requested) or from this NHTSA site where ever it is, be put directly on MUD?

Why can't the info from alldata (as previously requested) or from this NHTSA site where ever it is, be put directly on MUD?

A good question.

Is there some kind of copyright restriction that prevents posting TSBs directly? (Or, maybe a server capacity restriction? TSBs are PDFs with pix etc...)

Alldata charges $ to provide the TSBs. I last subscribed to Alldatadiy.com in 2003 for $25/year, but am wondering if any relevant new TSBs have been released for 1999 LX - or maybe I missed something in 2003...it will cost me $25 to find out from Alldata, with a one year subscription. (NHTSA may list TSBs with titles/summary, but does not provide full detailed TSB content.)

one would assume that if you have to pay to access info, it can't be posted on a site like this one... copyrighted and all...

re: Alldata, I had a look and I didn't see Toyota listed for the TSB title listing.

other places where the actual info can be accessed for free? If you have the site addresses, please list them here.

Thank you NMuzj100 for taking the time to obtain this info and post it up for the rest of us!!!

All TSBs that come from Alldata are copyrighted and could not be directly posted. The original TSB is also probably a copyrighted product of Toyota and could not be posted in its entirety without permission.

I think the best way to handle these would be to add info to the above posts taken from the TSB that would help board members decide if their vehicle could be effected and if they need to get a copy of the TSB from their dealer. If you have a copy of any of these and are willing to share your insight on the problem let me know and I'll place your board name in the notes as a PM contact.

Alldata used to list the Toyota TSBs summaries but doesn't anymore. Alldata also was connected with the NHTSA for the dessimination of this info but no longer. It may be that Alldata was competing with TIS for the service information side of the business. Remember some dealers and mechanics think this information is what keeps people going to the dealer for service and so they guard it pretty closely.

And I posted a good article on TSBs at the top.

re: Alldata, I had a look and I didn't see Toyota listed for the TSB title listing.

How unfortunate, they did have them posted a year ago and also a month ago.

Interesting ...

I just attempted to search on a Toyota service campaign and this MUD thread was the top hit in Google.

"landcruiser service campaign" is what i typed in to make it come up. pretty kewl, lets not post any copywrited things here...since its a very popular link now and all.

Ive gone on TIS to get certain TSB printouts to bring to the dealer...they were more then surprised i had my hands on it. They were like, where did you get this you shouldnt have this blah blah blah...i was like i paid 10 dollars and downloaded a bunch of things off the same system your TECHs use, they were dumbfounded.

i think the way its posted is great it gives a good descrip and if the member is interested they can go forward and do more research on the troubled item; hey this might be a dumb request but can the lx 470 be included? i know they are almost exact and the 06 and newer are even more similar thanks i love this place i have gotten more info and resorces from this place when i had trouble with my 06 then from lexus

The problem with TSB lists is they can be for a problem, change is repair procedure if anyone ever has a problem, or just a correction in printed material. What is needed is a full list of TSB's that are about "problems" that need correction. This list tells you nothing, that's why they are free on the internet. They want you to pay to get the good info and with the LC/LX its a waste of time because there are few problems and the ones that do surface are covered in detail in posts on the forum. JMHO

I have been looking for the TSB concerning the amplifier replacement for my 2001, but it isn't shown on any list of TSB's (that I could find anyway). I was directed to TSB: AU001-01. Any help would be most helpful !

buzzer doesn't shut off older LX

It started with a buzzer when the e brake was on, eventually it became a buzzer on even while driving. Dealer wants $1700 to replace combination box. Save yourself a bundle by just blowing compressed air in the junction box next to fuse box lower left kick panel. Appears flakes of metal in manufacturing break off and short a connection, Mirrors may have problems from same reason.
