OK, after much wrangling (subjectively-speaking) I think we've come up with suitable color matches for the OEM colors. As before, we've still got darker colors for those who prefer to deviate from standard OEM, but the OEM matches have now been determined. As for the thickness of the carpet, and since the standard carpet offering is comparatively inexpensive to, say, the 60 carpets, I'm thinking most might want to consider these carpet sets with the mass backing. Standard is $260 + shipping and the mass backing is $370 + shipping. The mass backed carpet is a good bit thicker, and it'll provide many of the same properties as say a DynaMat or Noico product. I just received my first set with mass backing, and I hope to provide personal observations / comments in the next week or so (Also, if anyone with grey interior wants an added discount on a standard, dark grey set ["Ebony" color from earlier in this thread], PM me, and I'll sell you the sample set I received a few weeks ago at a deal).

I'm thinking it will be wise for me to start a new thread on the 100 carpet offering, and I plan to do so in the next few days. In the meantime, if you're ready to order 100 carpet now, please send me a PM, and we'll get that process started.

Thanks for everyone's patience!
David
@dnp Would you post colors that are closest match to OEM? I have an 04 LC with gray interior. Is "Opal" the closest match?

Looking forward to your observations.
I am currently trying to install the mass backed version and the formed corners under the rear seat are giving me s***.
One side fits great, the other not so much. Heat gun (jute is blocking really getting at the rubber) or steamer is not getting it to reform at that corner.
Not liking this at the moment.
Let me see if I can help on this. I've done multiple 6x installs, but I've only done one 100 install (but I learned a few things): When you place the passenger area carpet down in the floorboard, it's important "where" you start, maybe more-so than "how" you start. One thing that flummoxed me was what appeared to be improperly molded carpet to fit the floor. It took me a while, but I discovered the molding appeared to be off because I was trying to fit it improperly. Here's what to look at: with the carpet in the floor, there's a large "ramp-up from the footwell to the base on which the second seat is bolted. There's also a small "ramp-up" from the footwell to where the transmission tunnel begins. If you start at the second seat platform and work it forward, the way the actual mold of the carpet is made will leave you short about an inch or so. HOWEVER, if you first place the carpet in the proper place at the base of the transmission tunnel and work the carpet toward the rear / over the second seat platform, it fits perfectly! Why it works like that, I don't know, but it took me several hours to figure it out. Once I did it that way, everything fell into place, and the install went perfectly!

I know all monitors are different, so hues can be different, but my monitor is showing a profound difference between the two you've shown. My wife does all of the 100 series carpets, so I don't have any of those records at my office, but are you sure you didn't order Ebony, and not Dove Gray? Dove Gray is a MUCH lighter shade (a virtual match to unfaded OEM 100 series gray carpet), while what is shown here is MUCH darker (like the Ebony I chose for my 100 - see installed photos below)

According to the info I got, I ordered the Dove Gray. or at least that's what I was supposed to get.

Thanks @dnp, you should add this somewhere for others.
I started at the ramp up for the second seats, but not I've made too many mistakes on the install - I'll need to start over. Most likely take it to a professional.
Cut too big of holes in the rear - I had a plan to cover up this mistake. But when I got to the center console, I cut too much again. Plus the mass backed is so stiff its really hard to work with. Kind of an expensive mistake this weekend.
I was so excited for this refresh with new carpet. I still am, just going to cost more than I bargained for.
Front seats and steering wheel won't be ready for a week or more, so still time to figure out next steps. The mocha brown is going to look really good!

OK, sorry for my delay, but I've now had an opportunity to go through all of the gray samples this mfr offers, and I put each of them next to an unfaded sample of the OEM carpet. I asked for additional opinions, and the consensus was - just like the original - the Dove Gray is still the best match.......but let me elaborate a bit more on that: (a) The thing that threw me off was the fact that in rrc swb's photos, the OEM carpet appears to be considerably lighter than any other factory carpet I've encountered. Either it's just been subjected to a LOT of UV and heat over the years and has faded badly or the image sensor on the camera, coupled with lighting, simply washed out the color. If you look at post #241, it appears the OEM carpet might even be from another color family (almost has shades of tan). Granted, I know it's not, but I think it has possibly faded out a good bit more than usual (and they ALL fade over time); (b) we have to remeber that this is aftermarket carpet, so it will never be an exact match to OEM carpet. That being said, from the side-by-side comparison we performed, you'd actually have to have our carpet and OEM carpet side-by-side to tell a difference.

Bottom line is, Dove Gray is an extremely close match to the unfaded OEM carpet, not the 14+ year old carpet that's visible in most people's vehicles.

I'm glad I had a reason to revisit this, and I hope this clears things up.

Thanks to all for the conversation.
David

David,

Thanks for taking the time to write this.

I like the darker color than the one I have.

Pretty happy with it.

Thanks!

You're welcome. It's always instructive to revisit a prior conclusion when someone brings up a legitimate reason to question it. Thankfully, the original conclusion proved to be sound. The carpet we recommend as being the best OEM match is a virtual match to the original carpet, not the 14+ year old original carpet. I find that I have to remind myself of that sometimes........

Glad you like it! It really does make a HUGE difference to the interior, doesn't it?

@dnp Thanks a bunch for clarifying this. I should be placing an order for the dove gray soon.

I love the difference in color and the fact it's CLEAN. LOL

Is there a way to get the a sample of the "Grays" you guys can get?

I have a gray interior.

I like the ebony look and like the darker contrast. But am worried it's too dark. What colors would you suggest as samples besides ebony to get?

Here are a couple of other choices vs the Ebony (although I can tell you, the Ebony has my favorite! My truck below)
