He is a just a teeny little bit biased.

The LC does not get much air time. It is not even shown going up that slippery slope. I do agree with his comments about the interior though. I rather have knobs and switches then buttons. Real temp controls. Finally someone thought to locate the ignition key shebang away from the steering wheel!

I`m sure that if he made the Japanese product seem even a "little" better than the Queens Flagship, the production company would be getting some "concerning" calls from both the advertisers and viewers

For all he says about the Range Rover in this and other clips, he personally owns a Land Cruiser. If that doesn't say enough when he slid into he trees one of the guys says "You said this can go anywhere." "It can. Look, it's come here!" He was obviously talking it up earlier.

I love Top Gear. Their reviews of sports cars are awesome.

Then there are the hysterical contests: buy a Porsche for $1500, and then 3 of them raced their purchases to another city.

...then the CLASSIC. Trying to destroy a HiLux (Tacoma). Their attempt to drown it inspired a real Toyota commercial.

It's not quite a real test or comparison, but still a lot of fun.

I agree that there's no better interior than the Range Rover, with the possible exception of Aston Martin.

Its interesting how they compare several trucks that are in the 50k or less range to a truck with a base MSRP of nearly 80k. I hope for that extra money the interior is nicer then a heep! Oh and they did one show on distroying a porsche 911, i think it was of the 2.7L era. He wanted to distroy it just because it was german. Im going to have to look into that hilux show, thanks adam.


After watching this video for a second time, He actually praised the LC but basicly said that it didnt "fit in" to the british day of hunting scene.

It's an entertainment show. All of the vehicles there would have been outperformed by some southern boy's $300 chevy 1/2 ton with a welded rear diff and super swampers. They are driving through sloppy roads and there tires are everything. If they really wanted to compare, they would have thrown some mud tires on all the cars.

He really didn't slam the LC's performance, just the astectics.

I liked the part where he said (in effect) "If you want to really get around buy an old POS with tall skinnys..."
It would have been cool if they had a 40 there to put up against the old LR's.

That has been the secret to the sucess of my old LRs on the trail and in the mud, leaving on the original size narrow tires got me through were many others ended sieways or in the ditch.

That type of driving is what the original Range Rover was designed for: The muddy hunting trail in style no matter what the expense.

Gotta watch 'Discovery Up a Mountain' - no LC/LX in it, but highly amusing (love British humor).

I think the funniest thing is his being impressed with a "...Thousand and seven foot mountain..."

Dude, that's not even a hill - it's just a slope - the foothills of Pasadena are higher than that - hell, Pasadena has an elevation of about 12-1300', and Mt. Wilson above (a REAL mountain, mind you) is 5700', and Table Mtn. beyond that is 7000'+!!!
