I recall waking up about 4am, making sure all the rebar and forms were ready to go, probably tying a few things I forgot to tie in the dark the night before. Friends and my dad showed up about 7am, and the concrete truck not long after that. I don't recall the time, but I recall Johhny Dare and Murphy show telling us about a second plan hitting the World Trade Towers. That memory is etched in my brain.

The question I have for everyone as this unimaginable "stay at home order" starts at midnight tonight... what are you going to do and have that memory etched in your brain.

Let me start..... my plan is to roll my FJ45 Vera project into the shop and start chopping it up. First step is to chop the metal foot-wells out and start fabricating the new ones that will be about 3" further to add some footroom-- and officially start that project again. Hope that I have enough steel around to be able to get that all put together over the next month.....

I believe if one is stuck at home in quarantine one is expected to complete a longish project?

Started rebuilding the front end of Ethel Friday. It’s the second knuckle service I’ve done (80 series being #1) and it’s going much better.

I’ve also got a set of City Racer door weather stripping that will replace the crusty OEM set. That should keep me busy for a few days.

Oh, and my wife brought home 4 handles of Tito’s so....

You know.... there is four separate FJ45 projects going on by local members..... friendly competition?

Four? I know of 3.. unless you count as 2? But yes! I'll put up a bottle of booze, my goal is to drive to twilight lane and pick up my prize correct?
Chef, 2fpower, tornadoalley.. the forth one?

Start by finishing up the front bumper.

We made a strong push for the essential businesses list to be as broad as possible. There might be more of you all that can remain open in some fashion, than you think. Maybe you didn't want to hear that, though!

The order would be similar in other counties.

pretty sure most of us are working.. I'm in healthcare, Colin is in transportation and Kelly.. Well, we all know Kelly just doesn't sleep..

Yeah, I’ll be working, but not going out really frees up time! I spent Sunday re-fitting my belly skid, mocking up a mount for the 2nd transfer case. Sorry I didn’t take a pic.

This is unprecedented. Of course crime doesn’t stop, and it’s quite eye opening when making dinner and your spouse is on a conference call with the powers that be regarding how health care providers are going to continue to the very best (might be edited some). And these calls will be nightly.

I don’t think we’ll forget this... as much as we’d like to. So PLEASE everyone, take this seriously and keep sharing distractions and accomplishments everyday. ToyotaOn! Maybe that needs to be a new global tag 😜 keep sharing pics!!

Cutting started.

We just got back from Death Valley and had a great spring break trip for the second time there. We did Lippincott, Mengal Pass, and Steel Pass this time which were all great. I kept smelling a faint oil smell when I got out to fuel up but couldn't find anything. After sitting for a few days when when we got home, there is a nice big circle on the driveway coming from the front yoke of the transfer case, so I'll be doing that. Looks like I'm I have to drop the whole thing. I may also put that snorkel in, having a hard time pulling the trigger on it.

If and when I make it home, I need to figure out what I need to do first.
Choices include, but not limited to:
On Board Air: I think I need a bracket to mount the York to the engine. I need to order parts to plumb it into a small bubble and lines to front and rear. This will also force me to finish the alternator situation.
Break Booster: That will be from scratch. I have no parts so that sucks.
Mount rear seat: I found a Best Top rear seat that folds and flips forward, like a Samurai's would. I'd like to tie it into the Redline cage that is in the rig
Finish the Cage: Redline cage is just tacked in and missing a few bars. I have some 1 5/8" round, a bender and wielder. I wish I has a hard top to set on the rig before I make the cage very permanent. Tie Cage to Frame would be the next step
Build Sliders for 40 and Truck: I don't have the material for that so it is kicked to the back burner for now.

Oh yeah. Almost forgot, various home projects: Notice this is last.

Again. Got to get home first.

So.... where are you at @ASI H8 ??? Where ever it is, I do hope you get home safely.

Some things I’ve done so far since being stuck at home... all while still teleworking ;)

-Spray foamed all the gaps and cracks in the shop. Really wish I’d of done this before winter last year.
-Built some above rafter storage to get the lumber off the floor and from against the wall.
-Burned 30 yds of yard debris that accumulated from the fall and winter.
-Built a small workbench top to go over some cabinets in the rear of the shop.
-Repainted the master bath
-Relabeled my toolbox drawers with a large font so that I can actually read them since I’m no longer young.
-Extended my shop lighting circuit and installed lights above the second workbench, drill press, and shop press.
-Ran a single dedicated circuit for 15amp tools.
-Installed a dart board in the shop.
-Drove the tractor around the property filling up holes dug by animals, probably our dogs.
-Dropped and realigned the mower deck.
-Ordered a lift for the taco.

We keep up this shelter in place much longer and I’ll actually have to start on the honey-do-list.

So this is a project I finished before being called. I did stain the shelves. I need to find the before pictures.

And I may have drank a beer.
