Thanks Eric. Not surprised. Regardless, if I were you I'd celebrate with free upgrades to Magnetic Gray LCs in April.
Sorry, just Silver ones in March! :bang:

Congratulations, Eric!

Confront — their are still new 2018
Unsold that they think are
Worth $$$
New 2018s? Possible. Probably $68k if no demo miles would be it’s real value. But they they have them this long, they probably cut bait. They need to be bought into used car inventory at whacked. Probably totally rusted out rotors and a dead battery. I’d pass.

Awesome! I remember.....not even 3 years ago? When I kept trying to talk you into building up one of your new LC's on your lot since pretty much no other dealer in the US was doing it. I figured maybe it would drum up a little bit of attention. Maybe help sell a few more LC's than you were currently selling. And now look.....#1 LC dealer in the US! 77 in one year. That's crazy! Congrats!

Nice Humblebrag.

I’m grateful to you @Higgin - thanks for kick starting Eric!

Lots of posts here in this thread. Gonna add on...because as so many here have learned the hard way... -Choosing a dealership to work with is kind of a big deal, because experience with our LCs is NOT a given at most locations.

Eric has gone out of his way to be personally helpful to me several times—on his own—even though I am probably NEVER going to be a new-LC buyer.

-If he treats his new-LC customers even half as well as he’s treated me...it’s a no brainer that he’s an excellent choice when choosing a dealership. Dealership follow-up care arguably matters more with the LC than any other Toyota model...so it’s great to know at least one is extremely LC-aware.

Now if Ed Martin toyota could educate the other dealers on how to change a cabin filter without causing thousands in damage....

Knowing the basic service procedures of an 80K dollar vehicle doesn’t seem like much to ask.

Whats the furthest someone has come to get a LC? How does your Taxes, Title, DOC fee (Owner pimp fee) compare to the rest of the country?
2500+ miles.... Several in Washington state. We do lots in CA and TX too for some reason. Taxes/registration always follows the state, so same as if local purchase. Our only fee is $199 (documentation)

I saw your ad on autotrader for your triple locked LC, I didn't think you would be selling them for that mucho_O! Congratulations!

Congratulations! When I get around to replacing my 4Runner with a new Land Cruiser, I plan on heading over your way from Cleveland's western exurbs. You just happen to be a couple miles down the road from Hiker Trailer, where I purchased my squaredrop trailer. I wish I'd known at the time and I'd have stopped by.

Awesome! Wes and Hiker Trailer crew are good friends of ours! Stay in touch.

So, Eric, from the POV of a mid-market single point operation: does the LC business even create a sales blip for you guys on a monthly basis ? Especially considering flooring costs for LCs.

I would assume your bread and butter RAV4/Taco/Tundra/Prius/Corolla/Camry sales per month are exponentially higher than the LC business. Probably by 100% if not more.

My assumption is that the “fun” aspect of this business as well as long-term brand loyalty is what allows your owner to let you have a go at something like this.

I’m impressed. Getting LC allocations from TMS is not easy.

Thanks. The allocation is the hard part, sometimes scary seeing 13-18 in A/F. I truly believe no one can beat us on that game at this point, not only would they have to know how to do it, but they would have to follow thru and keep the train going at risk of flooring them all and lot-rot expenses and clearance ricks w/no incentives. I have 3:1 ratio pre sold from the time it hits the ground. The hardest part in waiting 4-8 weeks and flooring it while the build takes place. To reduce the floor, I am stocking @TRAIL TAILOR @sleeoffroad @TrekboxX and Prinsu parts to reduce lead times.
60% of our business is the core-four Camry, Corolla, Rav4/Highlander. I sell about 6 LC's a month which is about 2.5% of our unit volume (5% of volume).

JIT baby. You’ve obviously spent time at the dealer training TMS provides.

Luckily, none of it is rocket science.

Beyond getting personnel buy-in. And getting your core techs trained on parts/products/platform and rewarding them for good work and quick turn around based on inbounds.

Like I said, great work on a **very** difficult vehicle from the sales POV.
