Sold my pop my 09'....... He's had it for several weeks now, no issues. Driven this morning then just very recently he goes to drive and the electronics are not working at all. Lights, door locks, nothing, dead as dead.

I'm heading over shortly to take a look. Any ideas?

start at the battery, check for voltage. follow the power till its gone. Cable connectors, fuses, damaged wire jacket that could have grounded out.

For trouble-shooting; what @TexAZ said.

I'm thinking rodent damage to wiring. Is it parked outside or driven infrequently?

Happened to mine a month ago. After fiddling around...I finally discovered that Toyota had not fully tightened the battery terminal clamp.

Voila! Problem gone.

Well, apparently my pop sat in the truck with the lights and stuff on for a while with the truck off, talking on his phone. He said it was about 30 minutes.

Dang if I know.

Jumped him off and followed him to the battery shop down the road. They tested the battery and said it was fine. Didn't even try to sell him one.

That battery was dead dead dead though. Interior lights would hardly light up, would not even attempt to start. Not even a click.

Well either way that's a cheap fix. Hopefully it wasn't damaged by being run down.

It seems the 200 is hard on batteries. When I was shopping for mine, no joke nearly every one sitting on a lot was dead. Many others when I ran the service history on them showed battery replacements every 2-3 years. I had a BMW X5 that kept the OEM battery for 7 years!

In the service records for my 200 there's a note saying something like "Battery 84 month service/replacement complete" so there is a requirement apparently.

My 2008 ran on the original battery until about a year ago...so it made it a full 8 years.

It was dead when I found it on the lot...but they jumped it and it was fine for another year.

I now have a massive type 31 on the Slee tray along with a type 35 on a secondary Slee tray.

After my accident/injury, my truck sat for nearly two full months...all the while "powering" the various outlet lights and USB charger lights that are in a constant-on state in the back, and it fired right up just fine after sitting with no ill effects.

How much $$$ does that run installed?
