Can you "unlink" the stereo and DVD player so the back seat can enjoy the movie with the wireless headphones and the front seat can enjoy the radio? If so how?
My 06 does this easily, but the process was not the same on the 08.
The DVD does go into the DVD player itself like on the 06 100, but rather up front into the head unit.

I apologize for such a silly question, in advance. I attempted search and am not trying to hook up an Iphone 5...yet, hence this question.

Also, any issues with the AC not cooling or switching from recirculate to fresh air by itself?

No and no....

not a silly question.....

Thanks for the response. So all of you 200 owners, of which I was about to become, when your kids are watching sponge bob in the back, you listen to it?

That seems to be a major fail by Toyota.

you don't have to listen to it, you just can't listen to anything else, you can have the kids have the headphones on and then chat up front... But I agree, does seem to be a fail by toyota, would be great to listen to music up front while they watch a movie...

I do not have children, so I have not tried this in my 2013, but according to the manual, the head unit in the 2013s can split the audio so the rear seat entertainment audio will play on the wireless headsets that come with the LC ( or wired headsets) and the regular audio will play over the speakers in the LC.

See http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/omnav/OM60K71U/pdf/05-1.pdf starting on pdf page 69 (especially pg 73 and 74).

I'll have to check this operation out before my warranty expires to make sure all is working as it should be.

I can listen to sat radio or regular radio or plugged in iPhone while my kids watch movies and listen to them on the headphones in the back...no Toyota fail.

Thats normal for my 2008 also.

The headphones work for whatever is on the rear entertainment, as long as the screen is down. Then I can play radio etc up front...but not another CD, obviously.

I usually just listen to my bluetooth headset via my iphone for whatever I want to listen....

My experience....4 kids under 14.

I'll have to give it another go:)

Ditto...you can do split audio. No way I'm listening to SpongeBob for hours on end.
