03 LX470 Rear main seal

Hey all, I had the dreaded puddle of oil on the garage floor. Turns out I need to replace the main seal. With it being such a labor intensive job for a very inexpensive part, I wanted to get your thoughts on what, if anything else I should get replaced while they have the engine and transmission separated from each other. Is there anything else in that area that it makes sense to get taken care of as preventative maintenance on a 100 series?

I had it in a shop I know and trust. I’m fairly certain they tracked down all potential sources of the leak and found it to be the main seal.
 
Are you sure it isn’t the valve cover gaskets leaking down?
I know you trust that shop, but I sure would verify. Get a bore scope and run it up behind the flex plate. $100 for a bore scope won’t matter when you are going to have a shop drop the transmission or pull the motor. Good luck, hoping for a successful fix for you!

I picked up an 03 Sequoia for a grand because the owner was told the rear main was bad. I tightened up the valve cover bolts and fixed it.
 
Good call thanks. And I will then have a bore scope in my quiver of tools which will always come in handy. I’ll give it a good inspection just to make sure. Thanks everyone, I’ll keep you posted. Forgot to mention it’s an 03 with 235K miles.
 
Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if the rear main is leaking - or rather the rear “oil pump” o-ring, not that uncommon or outlandish thing. Replace the 2 seals, replace trans mount, and move along. I’d also understand or be realistic that if your heater tees are old they may break or leak shortly after
 
No boroscope needed, pretty simple check with a $10 long handle inspection mirror to rule out valve cover-
