I posted a pic of the bumper gap sometime last year.

Necroing this topic...

Just wanted to know if any other cutting / grinding / drilling need be done other than the cutting of the frame horn and grinding of the upper tab mounts. A full set of complete instructions would be awesome =D.

Not for a 03+ bumper on a LX. Dont even think about putting a 98-02 bumper on a LX, or 03+ LC for that matter. Cutting the tabs off the top bar are the only things that arent in the normal procedure to install the bumper on a 100 series. On the LX the grille is attached to the hood, so it needs clearance to swing up.

Where in CO are you? If you're around Denver PM me if you want a hand with the install.

I'm actually in Northglenn which is about 15 minutes from downtown, I'll definitely PM you when I get off my lazy butt and pick it up. When I say "I'll get to it" that usually means I'll start thinking about it :hhmm:

Does anyone here have an Opposite Lock bullbar?
Either LC100, preferably LX470.

I would like to know the distance from the centre tube to the bonnet and the same for the ARB bullbar.
Are these the same?

Anyone?

Could some one give me the measurements from the edge of the bonnet, at the windcreen side, to the innerside of the top loop of the ARB Deluxe bar?

We don't get Opposite Lock bars in the US and the vast majority of the guys on here are in the US. Sorry.

Cheers,
I was hoping as you guys have TJM and ARB.
I have no luck in Oz as well.

Those with the ARB Deluxe bar, what is the distance between the edge of the bonnet at the windscreen and the inner side of the top tube?

See attached picture of jmarlo's car.

For those with the ARB Deluxe bar on their LX470:
ARB in Australia is telling me that the Deluxe bar will only fit when it is fitted more forward, this to clear the top rail.
Has anyone of you have this or are they talking rubbish?

If you buy the exact model ARB deluxe at the start of this thread, it should fit your 2002. All you need to do is cut off the light/antenna tabs. There will be roughly 10-20mm of clearance on that top bar. You can test the clearance before you drill, no problem. Just do it.

Comments from ARB:

"LX470, The grille opens with the bonnet as you well know, but the amount it comes out it will hit the top rail (when mounted correctly) of the bar even with the tabs moved. The Sahara Bar has the Chrome Tube at a lower height and it just clears when mounted correctly. So I'm happy to do a Sahara bar at a Special Price."

"I can do a special build through the factory with the tabs on the outside and let the customer fit it further forward and take the chance. but it will be ugly to fit. And needs a deposit paid before it proceeds and will be non refundable."

What they are saying could be true if there was a change in design. Maybe that is something you can ask them.

Finally after ordering the Sahara bar early March, it has arrived.
They ordred the wrong one first. :-(

How do you remove the front bumper?

I am almost there to install my Sahara bar.
A question: do I need to get anything else what is not included in the mounting kit? Like loctite or other stuff?

I would use loctite. Then again, I didn't loctite my ARB and I have not gone back to tighten anything up in the past 2 and half years.
