I personally am not all for these units. I bought my wife one from a company called seicane for her 2006 honda. (That car has integrated hvac/stereo as well). It went in alright and fits decently, but all the buttons on the unit are cheap feeling like thin brittle plastic and the knobs are even worse. The radio reception dropped dramatically causing me to pull/reinstall the unit just to verify i plugged the antenna in. Just the other day i had a good look at it and the backlit buttons have cracking paint that the backlights are shining thru. I paid over 400 for her unit in november of 2017. Also it is laggy and not even as responsive as even a 5yr old cellphone would be. It is seriously distracting and frustrating to operate while driving and is now even rattling slightly as the car idles at stoplights. Good thing i kept her old factory radio for when this thing craps out. I am VERY skeptical of shenzen china car stereo units now. Dont believe the people on youtube who hype similar units up. Keep your old mfd/controls just in case. I cant speak for this specific unit, but it seems like the same type of unit im dealing with in my wifes car.

haloseven, don't let loeky beat you. He's got a headstart, but you can still post pics and videos before him. I believe in you.

(yeah, we all really want to see these things ;-) )

Hahaha. I'm interested to see what if any variance exists in what's being sold from Shenzen. Not sure if they're all identical, or if being ripped off of each other already.

Will document all tags as I unpack it to help identify - and also to help see quality across the options.

Love the idea of an upgraded HU with current technology especially higher resolution, but I hesitate over the back end support. How do you get firmware updates, bug fixes, etc. My experience owning a much more basic android interface via GROM Vline has been quirky. They do a decent job of getting updates out and answering service needs but even then its not real time and can take a couple days to resolve concerns and there are bugs with how well it works in our platform. I can only imagine potential issues with something that replaces most of the other controls on the stack.

Another key concern is the quality of the hardware used; how well does it interface-regulate power, filter signals etc. The can-bus system & ECU's in our trucks seem pretty sensitive to outside influences or add on electronics.

Hoping to see some pics real soon!

Folks - Don't know if we've all purchased from different vendors or not. Nor am I clear if we received all the same parts/pieces/looms/etc.

Planning to finally start tackling my install Friday. Will include pictures as theres a specific AC/HVAC dongle/loom included in my package. Not sure if unique to my vendor...

I got this video from my vendor, passing along in case it helps:

Will be reviewing in parallel, haven't even watched it myself yet.

Which vendor did you use? Do you have a link?

the video linked is the same one all the sellers link. im almost 100% certain these all come from the same place, and the wiring is the same, aside from extra modules like the wifi dongle, and the cameras. if anyone wants to experiment with one, i can send it to them. i paid $435 shipped. id be happy to get $350 out of it. i could not get the AC to work on an LX 470, for full disclosure.

Does anyone know what year LC this came on in the US in wood and not silver? Most of the cars I see around have silver.

EDIT: NVM found em, 06. 06 LEXUS LX470 CENTER DASH A/C VENTS WOODGRAIN FINISH WITH SWITCHES | eBay

The description seems to indicate that those vents are from/for an 06 LX470, I don't think that's accurate, as the center stack on an 06 LX470 looks like this:

1933495

Yeah you're right they are from an LC, the description is just off, but I think it's the 06 LC's that got the wood.
