Well, I finally finished up the project. It was actually really easy and straight forward. I ordered up the painless battery kit, and the painless auxillary battery terminal kit, along with the battery tray and parts from Cdan (Thanks again for all the parts and info). It is a simple set up and only takes a few hours.....even though I extended it over three days..........little by little then off to work was the reason. Anyway, here are some shots of the set up. Opitma red for main and Optima yellow for second. I sort of ran out of places to mount the switch so I put it next to the fuse box in the dash. It will work fine there. Anyway, here it is. Now time to save for the winch. :)

It cant be to painless if you have to flick switches.
Can you get automatic systems in USA.
What if you forget to switch over while your fridge is on?

Is that a blue Chevron oil bottle sitting i front of the Red Top? Do you actually store it there, or is this an artifact of other activity?

awesome setup!!! I am going to be doing this pretty soon, What did it end up setting you back???

Yes that is blue chevron oil up there and yes, I do leave it there all the time. Actually, usually two of them sitting up there but I just used one.

The set up ran me around 450-500 bucks. Price breakdown is this......
120.00 for Dual kit
80.00 for the extra wire kit
105.00 for Optima Red top
145.00 for Optima Yellow Top
Then around 50.00 bucks in extra parts........battery tray, etc.

I could have spent less by using other brands for the battery but, I really wanted the Optimas in there.

Looks great. What additional equipment are you running? I just added this project to my list, Thanks!

;) I am just running my lights for the moment......still need to re-direct the aux fuse box over to the second battery. I will be saving up for my winch in the near future. Just really wanted to have the spare there incase of emergency etc. I am pretty darn happy with the results so far.
