Hey everyone, wanted to post up some pics of my new roof rack. Its the INTI rack from Venezuela. I love it. Sam and Alvaro put it together and installed it on the truck. Not too heavy. Sam said I could lift it but would be too short to put it on the truck. Cant wait to load it up for Moab. The rack took Alvaro and Sam a few hours to assemble and install.

Looks Good!

Looks like it kind of forces you to have a preset configuration though. What if you dont want lights up there? :D

Then you get one of those generic, heavy, overbuilt racks that are common out there, and call it a day! :)

So then this rack may not be right for you. Our set up will be lightforce lights, then Jerry cans, then gear and tent. Works great for us, plus has the added look the the cruiser asthetics nazi desires.

Did Alvaro bring all 3/4 racks, or did he bring some samples of the full-length (4 feet per side)? Just curious.

Seriously, folks, wait till you see an INTI rack in person, this isn't your average rack, these things are designed for expeditions and have been refined over YEARS of experience.

Henry,

I decided with the 3/4 length racks. One of the reason was that several friends they mentioned that with the light cage is better to have a bit of roof under them. So when you turn them on they don't reflect off your hood.
With the 3/4 length rack there's only about 10 inches in the front and and 6 back that are not covered.

Regards

Alvaro

Boston Mangler, just from the photos it looks like removing the light mounting mesh part would be a very simple mod to the rack.

Tree, your rig looks great!

David - I don't think the jerry can holder area can be reversed.

This is one sturdy rack tho! Where's my bonus!

How much clearance is there between the rear of the rack and the roof? i've been wanting an Inti for my high roof sixty but am having a hard time figuring out how to clear the raised roof. Awesome thread.

Could you reverse the location of the jerry can area to be in the rear? I dig the flip down sides...nice.

I'll say the opposite of Sputnik; I think maybe you can put the jerry can part at the rear. It looks like all you need to do is turn the rack around...

I'm away from my cruiser (traveling). I can take measurements when I get home.
How tall is the raised roof?

Don't think so - mesh and light tabs are up front where the jerry can rack is. Don't think that can be mounted either side, but could be wrong.

Alvaro, set us straight. It would be cool to put the jerry can part in the rear if the light tabs and mesh can then be mounted to the opposite end.

Did a measurement tonight for you. This is directly center in the rear.

Thank you very much for the photo Teresa (especially in the rain!!). It looks as though I would have to run a longer gutter mount. Does it look like it can be modified ie. extended by welding in some steel, or maybe the roof rack can be adapted to another brand of mount?

As far as the mounts are concerned I would talk to Alvaro about that. He has had his rack for over 2 years so I'm sure he will know the answer. I do know that the rack is able tobe modified. We may modify ours depending on how we want to put the roof top tent once we get it. Right now as the rack is, a Hannibal can hang off the back. Problem for me is we have a ladder and upright highlift jack. Not a biggee, just almost makes the ladder a waste if atent is hanging over it. I guess it would still serve it's purpose for loading the rack. The thought was to cut just behind the Jerry can area and have 2 separate side pieces. Then the tent could over hang the side. Our concern is rattling between the side at the Jerry can side piece and new side piece. I'm sure it can be done well though.
