New Toyota Truck

More about it

interesting... looks smaller than the new Tacoma, apparently built in Thailand, Indonesia, India, etc., instead of Japan. That would be a good rig for those who don't like the size/direction of the new Tacoma.

Nearly complete Info, in english, from a UK Site.

Toyota Vigo

Some Frolics

The best just got better. The Toyota Hi-Lux was always known for being the toughest truck on the market, but with the release of the Vigo it has added performance with the 3.0 Ltr D4D engine producing a amazing 160 Bhp standard and luxury with leather interior. Also availble with a 2.5 Litre engine.

They even sell a new SUV !

Toyota Fortuner

The Fortuner is expected to have seven seats on offer, and will have a wheelbase of 2750mm. That should be enough to offer enough space to the tallest Indian passengers!

Toyota has decided to go the safe way - and so this will be a ladder-on chassis SUV with all its attendant benefits. The front suspension will have independent double wishbone suspension which should make for good control.

Hyundai???

That SUV's a dead ringer for the Hyundai sold in the states, which I always thought was a direct copy of the mid gen 4runner....lots of originality out there, huh?

The new hilux here is same front suspension as the GX 470, or new tacoma, and we also get it with the 4.0 V6 engine, as well as the D4D diesel engine.

Iknow this is 2yrs old but. Does that mean it also got larger in size? The Hilux name trucks all ran with the Torsion bar IFS found on US 86-95 models. All US 95 1/2 newer and international Tacoma's came with a coil over setup. I would guess if the Aussie hilux has a coil over IFS the new Hilux is to minic the Tacoma model in markets which the Tacoma is not sold. Which would mean it got larger in size. I wonder what will happen in the markets in which the Hilux and Tacoma are sold.

Tacomas are a N America only product. However, coincident with our new, bigger Tacoma, the rest of the world seems to have been treated to a "new, bigger" Hilux, featuring(if I saw correctly) coil spring FS. I saw it on the Toyota Gibraltar Stockholdings site. Is Toyota finally building the same vehicle worldwide, instead of 2 or 3 different versions? Just wondered.

You obviously need to get out. The Tacoma is sold in nearly a dozen markets other than the US.
