Should There Be 40 & 55 Forums?

Think Woody should create FJ40 and FJ55 forums?

40 and 55 share enough to be in the same forum, along with 45's.

Isn't that "Cruiser Tech"??????

bit of history....

site originally had just a Tech forum....then, SOR closed and the 80/100 corner opened...then traffic rose more and the 60/62's were split off and the 100's were split off...then a few more.... They've been kept together cause, as Pimpdaddo notes, the drivetrains are very similar....but bodies are pretty drasticly different....

either way is fine by me....I don't know what either model is anyways :flipoff2:

The drivetrains for the 40 and 50 series are the same. Most of the differences are body parts availability, which the 45 and 55 series have much in common: little available. The amount of cross-over is incredible. I actually think even the 60 series could still be included, because even those issues are mostly the same, but whatever.

It would be cool to have our own old school wagon forum (45lv/55) - guess it depends on what kind of traffic it would generate. I ask about the same number of questions about my pig as my 40 ... but I post the pig stuff to the 55 list as well. If we could pull all those guys and the LV guys from POR we'd have a good knowledge base. I donno woodster - we would be able to claim the real "Iron Pig" forum from POR :flipoff2:

Damn a thread that got booted from chat

Didn't think possible

I don't know about seperate forums, but there should at least be an FJ55 FAQ. 40s have a FAQ. 60's have a FAQ. 80s have a FAQ. Everyone seems to have a FAQ.

But no 55 FAQ.

Makes me wonder if Woody isn't a closet anti-pigite.

I'd LOVE a 55 FAQ and co-mod for this section (or it's own section, depending on poll results)

if yer volunteering, speak up now (initial FAQ setup is a bit of work, maintenance is a no-brainer tho..)

Actually Jarred admitted he would pony up For a silver star if the were a 55 FAQ :flipoff2:

since the body is the only real difference (outside of minute steering/suspension/etc differences), i say leave em together. if you seperate by body, then you'd be looking at seperating 45 wagons, 45lwb pu's, 45swb pu's, troopies...you get the drift

I liked having the 60/62 forum with the 40/55 forum. Just keep those 80 series losers outta here and I'll be happy. :D
