Picked up the new swing arms yesterday. Tire came in yesterday too. So I swapped everything over including the cruisercrap beer cap opener and now we have dual spares.

Might need to work on some additonal tail lights. It's nearly impossible to see the stock units. The Kaymar and the 3rd brake light work for now. The CHP might give me a ticket in the mean time. Also, im going to run the license plate on the rim most likely.

Kaymar was right when they say 33" is the max. Very tight fit. Also, when the swingouts are closed
there's about a 1" gap between the two tires.

def. put some taillights on it asap. where are you going, got an itinerary?

So long as the tail lights are working in the Kaymar you should be fine legally.

As far as the license plate, I ordered the aluminum license plate bracket that Christo sells. You'll need to drill out the holes to make it work with the bolts on the Kaymar tire holder You've seen how mine sits in the tire. For lighting, I just used what came with the Kaymar. You probably got two new ones with the swing outs. I had two and wired them together to give the license plate plenty of light!

Looks good! Also looks like you were able to just use the existing mounting for the latch holders? Can't tell from the pics.

Yep, they actually lined up perfectly. I did however switch out to all new bearings, caps etc and used the new latch plates. They are both tight and snug.

Oh by the way Brent. The grease we used when we put that swing out on was all dry and crusty. It turned into this pink color from the red it was. You might want to pop the cover off and check yours. One thing we thought of is to drill and tap a zerk fitting into the top of the metal cover for the swingout so that it can be greasable without screwing with the stupid cap.

I used Moly grease cause thats what i had in the gun. It's not like it matters a whole hell of a lot.. because the swing out never see's high heat. Use anything dude. Brent used some red stuff last time. Don't remember what it was.

Mobil 1 synthetic moly grease.

I am getting ready to put my tire swing on as soon as I get the gasket in from Hanna and I have no idea what grease to use. I picked some up at Pep Boys but its just some all purpose grease, what do you guys think or would recommend.

Oh My God!! The 80's owners already have a bad rap for OCD. Delete your post ASAP!!!!

Do not let Cary see this post; we'll have another FAQ grease thread:grinpimp:

Say it again with me "It's not like it matters a whole hell of a lot":flipoff2::flipoff2:

Oh but it does! hehehe

OK, I admit; I would use M1 Synthetic too

but only because that's what's in the gun!

LOL! Really surprised given what we used for the spindle that Dave describes it as dry and crusty.

I think he's really describing himself! When I changed out my tire carrier after the accident, the same M1 moly out of the same container used on Dave's spindle was cherry red and gooy, just like the day I'd installed it.

Probably because we go out twice or three time as much as you Brent;) You're too busy playing golf. :flipoff2:

And loving every minute of it.

LOL Dave, you are out of control buddy. But looking good.

Nice looking rig.
Having two spares is nice.

Yeah i need another hobbie or something.
How about helping the rest of us catch up. Sounds like a good hobby to me!!! Let's see, I need Staun valves, GPS, Air tank, another CB, inverter, mag light, etc, etc...... And that's just the small stuff.

nice, but you'll have to get new ones in a month or 2 when you get the 35s... :D
