Alright everyone, we are approaching the 4th Annual North Meets South Uwharrie Wheeling/Camping weekend.

Dates are as follows: Friday, December 7th-Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Accommodations: will be at Badin Lake Group Camp Site A, it has electric hookups and is available for up to 50 people, I have it reserved for Friday December 7th and Saturday December 8th.

Directions: Plan on about 1-1.5 hours from surrounding NC Cities and 3 hours travel time from Greenville, SC. Anyone that needs specifics on travel information, directions, etc., let me know. Mapquest from Greenville, SC to Troy, NC:
http://www.mapquest.com/directions/m...&2s=nc&2z=&r=f

Communications: Cell coverage is spotty at best in the Uwharrie Mountains. On certain ridges within the trail network you may get service but it is still poor. We will rely on hand held FRS 2 Way Radios and CBs for rigs equipped with them.

Who Should Attend: Everyone!!! From stockers to the most capable rigs, Uwharrie has something for everyone.

Trail access: By the day or season. Passes available at the Outpost or a few other outlets. Locations, costs, display instructions:

New OHV trail passes for the 2007 season will be sold at the following local stores:
- Mullinix Store, Hwy 109, Uwharrie
- Eldorado Outpost, Hwy 109, Eldorado
- Swift Island BP, Hwy 24/27 and River Rd.
- Jake's Store, Hwy 109, Troy, NC

Cost of the daily pass is $5
Cost of the season Pass is $30
Passes also available at the:

Uwharrie National Forest District Office
789 Hwy 24/27 East
Troy, NC 27371
910-576-6391

Season Passes must be displayed on left rear fender for ATVs and dirt bikes, lower left corner of windshield for 4-wheel drive vehicles. Daily Passes must be securely attached to handlebars for ATVs and dirt bikes, or prominently displayed for 4-wheel drive vehicles.

Please respond with your intent, so we can move forward with finalizing some plans.

Look forward to having everyone out.

Sweet! Sounds great, count me in!

probably won't have my 40 ready by then but I would love to come out and see everyone else's rigs and get some pointers....maybe I can test my honda accord on the trails :)......naw, wife would not like that too much...Roger

Accords can handle parts of falls dam in all seriousness. But you wont have much exhaust left....dumb drunk locals make good entertainment.

I will be there, unless my trip to Europe is at this time.

Great, another tow fest ;)

I couldnt have said it better myself! Speaking of tow fests, I read youre post in the 80 section and if you get back and youre 80 wont start give me a call if you need some help, Im only a couple of miles from the airport.

C'mon guys lets get a strong NC representation...plus this place is one of our great state 4WD resources...anyone who does not have a trail ready truck or maybe does not have a LC but thinking about buying one should just ride with somebody and enjoy the fellowship. Anybody interested in the LC legacy is welcome..and those who are not well they are welcome too!!

Count me in!

Since my 40 won't make it to Cullowhee next week, I will make this trip it's semi-maiden voyage....

This sounds great! Is this open to non-members? How does one become a member?

Last but not least, is this open to day trippers (i.e. come out on Saturday early morning and leave Saturday evening)? I live in Charlotte and would love to make the trip.

Thanks,
John

Yes, this is open to non-members and day-trippers....

We invite any landcruiser enthusiast to come out and enjoy the weekend.

Then I'm in. Just postup where the meeting point for Saturday will be and what time you'll be heading out when the info is available. Thanks.

I guess I should postup my ride specs since my signature isn't update. I'll be bringing a locked '96LC with a heavy/med OME lift, ARB, Warn 12K and snorkel, but no sliders...yet. Its almost Christmas time. I'm trying to see if I can setup some kind of group buy with SROR for his awesome sliders. If anyone is interested, let me know. I have to stamp out some details with Jim at SROR.

I'm in.
b
