I am looking for pictures of the heater control on a 1975, I think I have all the parts, but I can't see how it goes together. specifically where the flat metal plate with the knob on it goes in order to make things work.
so if anyone has a photo of the area shown here, please pass it along, thanks

Not that I am pushing my stuff in tech, but my kits are a solid buy and replaces all that is needed.

thanks, Shane, somehow I missed this when you first posted up the pics, (twas the season:D) I would like to know more about the kits too, I have the flat bit with the ball on the end, and all the rods seem to be sticking out in the right places, but I haven't got the bushings/clips to make it all stay together

Its complete with all the foam, screws, machine screws, bushings, nylon washer, vent seal and razor blade for foam trimming and so on.

You will only have the base, retainer square, top, register, door selector, knob, rod, upper door, lower rod door retainer and both springs.

My tops are are repainted professionaly by a company across town, It is a two part epoxy. The housings are media cleaned then powder coated.

The above pic was a RHD heater for a customer in OZ

sounds like it would make the rest of my truck look bad! :D

And HOT!

I believe that 40's have a great heater! My kit does not make them hot, it just gets you off you assss to take it apart and clean the decaying foam out of the core fins. Or better yet buy new for $60 at autozone.......I cant keep my fingers in the register while running, it gets that hot!

But my kits make them function like they should with the "3" positions.

I actually did clean up the heater core and stuff, I just don't have the multiple positions, for stronger defrost I push the one little rod forward and jam the kids toy motorbike in it :hillbilly: but I also have a mean rear heater, I think it's out of a short bus or something, PO ran it all winter (up here) with a ragtop with busted zippers.

I just got my first early heater the other day and tore it apart. What a pain in the asss that thing is. Taking it apart was a pain due to rusted screws. But the core was one I have never seen, It was thicker and had brackets welded on it. I am looking to see if the later core will work if I can build a kit.

I just dropped it off at media today and I hope it will survive. It had alot of surface rust on the inside and one wall is thin.

I will be powder coating the housing and painting the inside "blinds" as they would not be able to move if they were done in powder.

But I will post up when I can.
