So I got my ironman suspension today, included shackles, springs, bushings, ubolts and pins. I am confused on the way the shackles are shaped and how to put them on. There were no directions that came with the shackles and I am trying to figure out what the purpose of the little "ear" on each shackle is? At first glance I thought it would serve as an anti inversion device but when I hold it up to the spring I notice that it would clear the frame rail thus making the ear not hit on anything and making it pointless. Is anyone running these shackles and if so how are they installed? any thoughts or opinions appreciated?

pablocruise, so the ear goes on the inside of the frame rail, opposite of the picture where I am holding it up? Does the point go toward the front or the rear of the car on the front and rear axle? I guess the greasable nipples go on the inside as well?

What I don't understand though is that the points don't hit anything thus making them unecessary and pointless, am I missing something?? anyone running these?? pics?

unfortunately they are not a us company and the only contact on their website is in like brazil or something, sent an email, don't expect an answer. Anyhow, I have looked at these things up, down and sideways. Even checked if the pins were put in the wrong way. It just does not make sense as any way they are installed, the ear does nothing as it does not interact with anything. The only thing I can think is that these shackles are made for a bunch of different vehicles and that the "ears" have a purpose on another vehicle. Oh well, I guess no harm, no foul, as they should work fine as is, just looks a little funky and know I just want to know "why".
