I'd go Toyota on that one from my experience. Napa sells two kinds reman and new. I have used both. The reman on a Chevy tahoe I did the housing was more pitted than the one I took off. I put a new one on a Ford focus and the impeller was made out of a cheap plastic instead of the metal impeller on the origional. In about a year the plastic impeller separated from the shaft. The water pump plays a very important part in the cooling system and I would not use anything other than a new Oem. Your 62 has 130k or so on it and probably is still running the original. Just my two cents.

As of now, I am replacing radiator, water pump, thermostat, all belts, battery tray and adding a tranny cooler. Should I also change the fan clutch while all this is out? What about all the hoses that run anti freeze? From what I understand there are hoses that run anti freeze toward the back for the heater.

There is no way the 62 is making it to the crawl. I need to get hopping.

If I were doing all that i would definitely replace all the heater hoses and the fan clutch for sure.

Might as well put all your money in the Land Cruiser pit...

What he said.

Call Dan or Jacque they will hook you up.

If it is a Toyota radiator then just get it cored and fixed v getting a new one.

Also Toyota belts and get all the old parts and keep as spares!!!!!

. I agree with what everyone else is saying since you are in there change everything that is in that vicinity.

welcome to the cruiser money pit! I can't think of a better way to spend my money!

The radiator was toast according to radiator repair shop. It looked like crap so no surprise.

Ah the Land Cruiser money pit. My wife used to like Land Cruisers.

At least you are putting your money in something that the whole family can enjoy for many years to come. By the time you get it right your dad is going to make you leave it at deer camp.

Fly an extra mission and remember the Cruiser will last longer than a wife!

Mike -

I showed Randi your post and she laughed...I think we need to get Rachael and Randi together so they can vent on our Land Cruiser addiction...

No way Mark, you get them together and they might come up with a plan to get us out of cruisers.

Probably didn't help our cause when Chris kept showing Randi how he got a belly bruise at the crawfish boil! 8 O

You can't handle the truth.

Think I'll let Randi tell the story since it is branded into her memory.

"That's what Mark said!"
