LJ73 Sudden loss of almost everything electrical?

Thanks, looking into it now, it seems discontinued for my model on all the sites I'm looking at.

LJ73 Sudden loss of almost everything electrical?

Thanks, I have a LJ so it's 12v, might be other wires. I'll measure the gauges on the ones I removed, but from what I understand these are 0.5, 0.5 and 1.0 mm squared wires.

And by banned I mean wired fusable links. I can get flat style metal links (as in image) that goes into a box in the shop here, but I need to figure out the resistance loads to get the right ones for replacement.

So the lines themselves are supposed to act as fuses? I see. I have never encountered this on any other vehicle I've owned before. This explains why I couldn't find a starter fuse in the engine bay. They seem to have been replaced with plastic covered versions, or perhaps they have always been...

LJ73 Sudden loss of almost everything electrical?

Tha is for the tip Indeed it its. I cut the whole thing off and replaced with new cables. I don't see the need for a connector 5 cm from the battery when you can just as easily take it straight off the battery if needed. I figured out what happened though, the cables from the battery were...

I am also guessing this isn’t correct. Whoever did electrical work on this car was an absolute idiot. A nice long screw that held the steering wheel plastic cover had gone through the wire and worked it’s vibration magic for some time.

Well. Ignore this. Some French muppet who previously owned this vehicle didn’t learn how to connect cables and tried to fix a completely worn out connector and wire with some electrical tape.

LJ73 Sudden loss of almost everything electrical?

So, I was going to take out the land cruiser as usual, flip the ignition all light and preheat came on but then it all died as I turned over to start. Naturally I though I’d left a light on and drained the battery. Put it on a starter battery but no go. Then I realized nothing had power even...

This is how the 80 kit looks mounted. It’s low only has about 2 mm clearance in the center with the 155mm legs and 6mm spacer. I’m going to add another 6 mm spacer I think. I have mounted it temporarily using only 4 legs as I plan to put some Thule artificial rain gutters for extra strength on...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Fingers crossed it won't come to that. Some say it does, other say it's no problem. It's an adventure :) I'm lucky this time I guess, the hose is damaged from mechanical wear/vibrations where it meets the metal insert on the injector. New hose, no more problems I hope.

LJ73. It’s me being and idiot again. I’ve got the primer on top of the fuel filter but somehow got it into my mind there was a second one on the IP. I can see a leak from the overflow hose if i build up pressure with the pump manually so I’ll start there. Hopefully that’s the only leak and might...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Awesome, thank you again. But now I feel lik an idiot because I can't for the life of me figure out where the primer is located on the injection pump. Neither from poking around in the engine or from the exploded diagram on amayama... :( I feel it should be obvious where it is... I did find a...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Thanks a bunch! I’ll start poking around this weekend but the pump surely looks wet from diesel. Any part specific number/model on that Bosch primer pump if that turns out to be the issue?

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Well, the good news is my 73 is not leaking oil. The less good news it's leaking diesel. Any suggestions where to start my search? It's dry (as in non leaky) from the tank to the filter and onward. I guess the pump is where I start looking unless there is another common part that likes to leak...
