Already got it in. With the bigger fan blade it was rubbing along one side of the shroud. Was able to oblong the bolt holes and slide the shroud over about 1/4" which cleared everything.

@peesalot , Just when I thought I was getting to the bottom of my overheating issues, you throw a wrench into the plans. The old fan was actually on with 3 bolts, I guess the PO thought the hole for the 4th was a spare. I did replace it with a correct one, and I used 4 bolts. I was curious...

I try to keep right at 3000rpm. Maybe up to 3200 for a bit but try to keep it at 3k. Not sure on the gearing. 1977, 4 speed. I know the engine and transmission were replaced at some point it the past so not original.

I sprayed my gray headrests with Dupli Color vinyl and fabric coating. Comes in flat or gloss black. I used gloss. Shinier than the black seats, somewhat due to age of the seats but the headrests are definitely black.

Just so I'm understanding the coolant system correctly. Coolant circulates through the engine until it reaches the thermostat temp (say 180*). Once the stat senses the coolant is at 180*, it opens and now flows the coolant through the radiator, which helps reduce or maintain the coolant temp...

I did add coolant to the overflow a while back, about halfway between low and high fill lines. Have checked it a couple times since and it always seems to be at the same level I filled it to. Someone mentioned above to park it on a steep hill, pull off the cap and run it for a bit. Tried that...

Installed new Bilsteins. Three of the four old shocks are still compressed from when I took them off yesterday and compressed them. One took about 3 hrs to uncompress. Guess they were due.

Should be able to get those horseshoe shaped shims from any commercial window installer. They still use them today.

I wonder once clean, if a leather conditioner/rejuvenator would help with the brittleness?
