Ran into another Hundy today! Saw this sick JDM-spec VX and had to pull up and take a pic! Got to meet Rob, who is new to the island and has lovingly modded this extremely clean beauty!

Last time I had my right wheel off I noticed my outboard brake pad on that side was worn pretty far, so I replaced all four front pads yesterday. Oddly, it was just the outboard right one that was badly worn, the rest were all worthy of replacement, but not nearly as bad. If I see the same issue...

Not really. Theres a super easy one out to Kaena point, and a harder one that I've heard of here in the middle of the island, but all of them require you getting permit beforehand. I originally grabbed the rig for when I retire to take on Maine fire roads, but retirement keeps pushing itself back.

Thank you past me for reminding myself where this vibration was coming from, as it has returned. Time to take off that driveshaft and re-work the joint a bit and I guess it's time to order a new rear driveshaft!

Went back through the pictures I took when I did it. I DID combine all my Speaker GND together, but not with my main GND. Hope this helps!

Well, after a lot of research and a worsening of the problem I landed on the rear driveshaft as a likely culprit. Removed it and found that the rear most ujoint was sticking in one direction. Drove the rig with it off and CDL on, and sure enough that was the issue. So I regreased and worked out...

Replaced CV and repacked the bearings. The CV that was in there wasnt OEM, and my Cardone is late in shipping, so I slid the OReilly one in there. Took care of some slop and clunk. Did NOT take care of the vibration issues I'm having under throttle. Thinking it might be motor or transmission mounts.

Replaced driver's side front CV axle and repacked the bearings while I was in there. Now I'm at least more proficient at cone washers.

That's a baller suggestion! I'm definitely going the Cardone HD route, because it arrives tomorrow and this job has already taken long enough I can wait another day. That said, instead of trashing my OEM I may as well rebuild it myself and then when/if this one goes, the OEM rebuilt can go back...

Yet another bonus of island life. No Sears. No Harbor Freight. I've hit every Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, and O'Reilly on island- no luck on a 54/55mm or 2 1/8 hex socket. Now to try Home Depot/Lowes. And if that doesnt work I guess Amazon and wait...
